I've crashed three times in a 114 minutes of play, all during the Dubai sandstorm stage where you have to save Arun.
I have an 17-4770k and an r9 290x,, I am playing on high, the default of the game.

I don't think this game is worth USD$15. Played during free trial.

No ubisoft cloud save. I have had to restart 3 times. I am sick to death of this.

TL;DR: I played this game when it was free. I am pretty sure I would feel my time was wasted if I was given this game for free.

It crashed twice in my 56 minute period of play. First I thought it may have been because I was using windowed mode, but it crashed when I was full screen too. This game seems to be prone to this when there is a lot of activity on screen.

Also, I dislike how the helicopter handles, I liked it much better in Just Cause 2 when you could control the without the helicopter yawing.

Also I did not turn anything up. Only used default settings.

Played up to 4 hours. World seems very empty compared to Just Cause 2. Gliding with the wingsuit is pretty fun but this game will probably feel like a chore to progress through (get upgrades) whereas Just Cause 2 rewarded you for doing what we all love: blowing stuff up. I've played through missions where there is a lot of ground combat. The developers took out the crouching mechanic and the fine aim has to be unlocked, so how the do you play the combat well when it is so hard to shoot anything when you are zipping around?

Only buy this game if you will like the sniping despite unpolished graphics or bugs or what have you.

I play on the highest difficulty and I like the game very much. In Far Cry or Fallout games I always attempt to play stealthy both long range and short range. In these games I was always frustrated that you couldn't climb buildings etc. for tactically advantageous positions to shoot from. The vertical freedom in this game is greater than basically every game other than the Just Cause series.

On the hardest difficulties a couple of shots can kill you even with the best armour, so there is a heavy emphasis on long distance engagement or stealthy CQB. This isn't like COD where you can almost die, take cover for 10 seconds and go on as normal.

The AI is pretty unsophisticated but it is so in almost every other game (except MGSV, exceptional). Still there is an enjoyable experience to be had in scouting out enemies from a distance, finding a good spot and picking them off with precision.

Controls are smoother than the last time around, also the game seems to work fine, as far as I can tell. I will update this review as I go along.

EDIT 1: I have played some more and I have seen some bugs. Frequently, NPCs will keep moving back and forth in the same place, they seem to get stuck, poor mapping.

In the second level, just in the starting area, I saw a bottle on a barrel fade into view when I was moving, then fade out when I moved back. This was only like 6-10 metres away or so, on the maximum settings too. That's a bit disappointing.

Also, in the second level on the airship, I tried to climb out a window which has a bundle of cloth or something in front and Styx enters the falling animation, it was hard to get him through that window.

I just passed the 2 hour mark on this game not so long ago. The way game releases are nowadays it was weighing on my mind whether I should refund this game which I pre-ordered. I think I will be happy not to refund this game.

Really creepy how the brown guys keep following me around (and I am a brown guy). Fair and accurate representation of feminism. This is deep man.

The minigames are funny but I wish there is more of an explanation or a tutorial for them. I can't understand the abortion minigame.

On a 1080p monitor, the game works fine so far. It does slow down a little when driving the batmobile and turning around really fast. I had all options set to maximum except for the GameWorks stuff.

The metal gear you have to fight has a flamethrower for a p***s. I am green with envy. 10/10

Not recommended if you have an AMD card. The brightness and gamma and contrast are not adjustable to give a decent picture both in the day and at night. Too bright and washed out during the day, especially roads, the sky, sand. Too dark at night under the trees.

As for the game, it is certainly functioning properly and otherwise is working the way it is supposed to. I personally prefer Far Cry 2, because it is more "hardcore". This one has a more arcade type flavour, with scores and leveling up and stuff. I did not like it the most, but if you are advised, then the choice is up to you.

I do not recommend this game because there is so much DLC that it costs as much as the base game. Additionally, I have NEVER seen the DLC for sale, only the base game, which I bought in the first week. I would essentially have to play 120USD for all the content. Make sure you buy the base game on a sale if you plan on getting the DLC. I hereby will never buy another game from CA unless at an extremely steep discoount.

I understand that people object to CA's DLC plans, if you feel strongly about those then their negative reviews are valid. I am writing this review to say that this game is recommended in so far as it is a game that runs without problems or bugs, works like it was supposed to, which is becoming rare nowadays.
