Early Access Review
A bit underwhelming after repeating the runs after 150+ hours, unlike Hades 1. But absolutely the same level of awesome. So much more content.

Not a fan of the game, sorry. The game seems really fun looking through the trailers, but so much text. I've not played a lot (1.3 hours at the time of the review), and I can't get myself to play the game seriously because so many skills/features require so much text, it got annoying for me after a point. They could have handled it better, with voice narration.

Decided to give the game a shot, usually I don't play games if their titles/posters or the initial graphics don't look really appealing. But decided to give this one a shot, what an awesome game. You take a lot of damage for 1 hit from enemies, that is the one thing that I didn't like much (gameplay-wise) about the game, but overall, it's fun. As for the game itself, the lore/story directly gets into the action I felt. I do understand that it's not common people talking in modern times, but having a bit more non-native english speaker-friendly story (atleast in the beginning, would have been better). I started skipping the dialogue since I missed the first 1 or 2, now I am basically not playing the story, just the gameplay. Which in itself is good, so not complaining about that ;)

It's an ok game. From the initial hype around the game, I think the game is a tad over-hyped. Here's what I think could make the game better:

The game is primarily a walking simulator, I say this with about an hour or so of gameplay. The fact that you have to just walk around, with very little exploration, is kind of dull after a few minutes. You are basically blocked off from entering certain areas, thus forcing you on a designated path. A little bit of exploration/adventure aspect would make the game a bit more fun. Instead of having an empty terrace on a building, and me just jumping through it, doing nothing much, how about ther is a short section in the terrace off at the side where I can go and do something, like pee or something? Or maybe a snake/rope lying around, and the cat can play with it? Maybe it plays with a laser dot moving around?

Secondly, the guidance for showing the path is not subtle at all. Showing the Follow me sign, or the neon light arrow, are very on the nose. The blinking lights going in a particular direction to tell you that you're supposed to in a certain direction is annoying to watch after a point, especially considering you can't really go off the pre-determined path (which I mentioned earlier)

Thirdly, add a few cat features like playing with rope, licking yourself, scratching behind the ear with the hind leg, playing with a laser dot, etc. The lack of yarns for the cat to play with, lying around throughout the game, is a big surprise.

I personally don't think the game should have an overwhelmingly positive rating, hence I am marking this review as Not Recommended, but I definitely enjoyed the game, despite the few features I mentioned as missing. Would recommend on a discount, with the current gameplay and features, would not recommend it for a full price.

Gonna recommend after finishing the gameplay, but I still do think that the game missed some classic features to make the game more fun for cat lovers, some missed opportunities for sure. But the game's story is awesome which I really liked. I do agree with one of the negative reviews which says that the game is not really about the cat, but a scientist, which is kinda true, but I don't mind that, the story was still fun. If you don't go in with the expectations of the game's story just revolving around a cat, you will definitely enjoy the story.

I love puzzle games. I've played both In My Shadow and this, I like both, but Shady Part of Me is definitely better. The game is more fun, it has really good music, the art is really good. The fact that you control 2 separate characters, instead of just 1 (the shadow not simultaneously moving to the character, like in In My Shadow), makes the game have more potential for puzzles, and slightly harder and more interesting ones.

A well deserved Overwhelmingly Positive, I'd say. The map arranging mechanic is (although not quite unique, mechanics-wise), has a good unique style to it. If you were to remove the map rotation/movement part, and replace it with something like gears/nuts/screws, etc., I'd say that the mechanism has already been done before, but this style of rearranging the map to get newer and explore new NPCs, collectibles, etc. is rarely done with such good execution.

Art style, I'm a huge fan. Anything that is hand-drawn, I'm almost always immediately drawn towards it ;)
I like the dialogue system in the game as well, short and concise.
Sounds, music are on point.

I went into the negative reviews to check out what people had to say about it. Surprisingly found a valid negative review. The game might feel like a bit of a chore after a point, the puzzle mechanism will get repetitive pretty fast. But I'd still recommend it. I personally wouldn't go for the full price, just because of the repetitive aspect, else I wouldn't mind the full price.

It's ok. Relies moreso on luck than skill when you play with a mouse. I didn't give it a shot with a controller, as the game recommends, but I didn't find it intriguing enough, when I played it with a mouse, to actually want to try with a controller. Graphics are ok, I like neon-ish graphics, but gameplay needed to be a lot more fun considering that the particles/graphics are very minimalistic.

That said, I would recommend this game when it's on sale, but maybe not the full price.

Not a fan. Played it single player, maybe why, but don't really like the game much. Solo version is like a platformer where I collect gems & respective A++ (which I don't mind), but the so called humour in the game, was not really my taste. Might give it a shot with co-op once, and see what's good in the game (gameplay-wise). There's not much 'comedic value' I found in the game. I started playing games with Comedy tags recently, must say, not the biggest fan of this one or Deponia (and Chaos in Deponia), but Deponia was still better humour than this one I felt. Will update review if I change my mind, if and when I do play co-op.

Meh. It's a weird "game." I put the word game in quotes because I don't really understand what I played, but I finished it for the achievements. Don't recommend it personally.

I want to like the game and recommend it to others. But for some reason, I can't. The puzzles are so hard, I've almost skipped through half the game with just tutorials. I love the art style, don't get me wrong. Also, as a sarcastic person myself, I like the dialogue in many places, and as someone who loves puns, I also found a few of them in game very appealing, but most of the dialogue has left me wanting better. 6/10, because of extremely hard puzzles, else would recommend 9/10 if you are ok with investing too much time into a Point & Click genre game.
