Game is okay-ish, goes to ♥♥♥♥ when you go into a literal war zone later on in the story. It's a cool concept that is just begging for a reboot. Soundtrack is awesome.
Sequel is horrible imo.

It's such a shame that Rockstar treat their old games like garbage. All they do is break or downgrade their games. Instead of letting people keep their old versions like any other developer when removing GFWL or doing remasters, they just remove games from your library and force you to use their crappy new versions where they don't even fix anything (not even the most simple of bugs that were there from the very beginning of the PC release like Bulletspread).

On top of that, Social Club is arguably worse than Securom and GFWL combined. With those two, once you setup your game (even if it could be a pain for some), you don't have to worry about not being able to play them later because you couldn't connect to GFWL, you could still use your online profiles or create offline profiles if you didn't care about Multiplayer in the first place. With Social Club, if you can't connect, you can't even play the damn game. At the moment, nobody can play it at all due to some stupid Social Club issue that people have to fix by changing the computer date.

The most stupid thing of all is that they changed all of the Multiplayer code to be compatible with Social Club, but decided not to turn it on. It would cost them nothing, it's a Peer 2 Peer game. I'm surprised they haven't shut down the multiplayer for Max Payne 3.

So yeah, don't give this horrible company any of your money, and downgrade your game to not have to deal with this stupidity. The game itself is great:

After 2 months of being broken, they finally fixed the damn Multiplayer.

Great game with some issues:
- Graphics upgrade isn't 100% an upgrade imo. While the new dirt & dust effects are nice (build up too fast on cars), the changes to colors/saturation/contrast on various time of day/weather selections are noticeably worse making them look like ugly reshades imo (Main Menu/Garage & Clear Midday/Noon on any track, especially my favorites Savolax Sandpit and Motorcity Circuit, I miss how they used to look).
- No intention of balancing or separating clearly broken/OP cars (3 Tournament cars that dominate A Class racing, a DLC car that dominates C & B Class racing, 2 DLC cars that dominate Demolition Derbies as well as a DLC that gives you heavier/stronger armors);
- No cash bonus in Career for playing without assists or higher difficulties (recommend using something like Free Market mod otherwise it's gonna be too grindy imo);
- Stability assist should not exist. It makes differential tuning useless;
- Whatever was in the old review that I forgot if I did.

So, overpriced cosmetic DLCs and microtransactions weren't enough for TWI (or their Epic Store timed exclusivity deal for their upcoming Shark game), now they're going to be selling weapons packs on top just like KF1. I don't know if they will be P2W or not, it doesn't matter, it's a greedy, ♥♥♥♥ move regardless. And well, the balance aspect of the game doesn't seem to be getting better, and could potentially end up as bad as Payday 2 if it continues the way it is going. Do not recommend.

$10 FOR ONE WEAPON!

Edit: Worst part about the KF series is the late joiners. People can screw up your match by joining games in progress, and thus being underequipped dead weight. TWI still haven't fixed this by disabling late joining past a certain wave or changing the amount of dosh players get when they join and not letting jackasses spawn 20 seconds from trader time end. It's both the pub community being dumb as hell and developer incompetence.

The best way to describe this game is Road Rash brought to the 21st century, except it's a lot more focused on combat rather than racing, which is a good thing. It is also very, very addictive, and I'm talking about the Singleplayer portion of the game. Great music, a ton of different difficulty options in the form of selectable riders and motorbikes with different stats and playstyles, local and online multiplayer, tons of different weapons, frequent updates. A must have for any motorcycle enthusiast.

The Multiplayer portion on the other hand, is still barebones and unbalanced (even after release), with major hit registration issues. Multiplayer mode is not recommended.

Extended Review (December 29th Edit):
It has problems like any other game, it's not perfect, but it's not bad either. I see far too many nitpicks purely because it's not exactly like old Road Rash which is dumb.

The game's only real problem (Singleplayer wise, Multiplayer is a broken mess), is the poor difficulty balance in regards to riders, skilltree and weapons. Guns and explosives have far, far too much ammo to them, and tougher riders/bosses don't have nearly enough resistance to them that they should.
Any rider that has access to guns is pretty much Very Easy mode, as there is no risk to using guns, and you get rewarded for using them (Health, Nitro, Cash), when you shouldn't.

The skilltree pretty much makes already easy riders far too easy to complete the game with, instead of making certain impossible/very hard riders more manageable.
Nathan Algren, Shovel Knight, Helloween Rider, Santa, Elijah Price (to an extent), etc... are the only riders in the game that are fun or even remotely difficult to play with, without self-imposed restrictions/challenges. Jack Traven is only fun for speedruns.

But I'm not gonna review it negatvely solely based on that. The core gameplay is great. Smacking people, riding bikes and completing the campaign is fun to do.

Singleplayer: 4.5/5
Online Multiplayer: 0/5

A really old game remastered in Unreal Engine 4. In comparison to the original, it has Multiplayer (Deathmatch and Campaign Coop), a Rampage Mode but no longer has Gauntlet Mode. Also supports Keyboard & Mouse in case you don't have a controller!

Although it does kinda make you wish they did more than just faithfully remake the game. 3D and destruction would have been nice.

Is it worth it? Yes. It's developed by the most awesome company in the world.

Good game. The protagonist is a ruthless badass, story is nice, customization is pretty good but not important. Though it has issues:
- Crappy/boring/simplistic driving (but you can call taxis to just drive you wherever you want, and the Helicopters are pretty fun on the other hand);
- It's far too easy/casual (even on Hardcore, and there isn't a mod to fix this problem). By that I mean, theres a 4 slot inventory system to store food to replenish health with, which by itself would have been perfect, but on top of that, you have Health Regeneration for yourself and your homies (even the non-story ones), said homies can be infinitely revived, there's no penalties for deaths or they're very minimal, and there's mission checkpoints on top of that (which are only needed for those where you can get one shot by a random RPG out of nowhere). You know the Katana only Boss Battle vs the Ninjas? You can cheese that by just jumping around the place until your health regenerates. It's just far too much handholding imo.

If only there were mods to get rid of the health regeneration (but give some extra health), maybe the infinite revival, and one to make the driving not crap, the game would have been great, but otherwise, it's okay. Shame the series went downhill after this one. Hopefully it will get rebooted to be like the 1st two games but a lot better.

Crashing isn't that common, but even if it does happen, the game autosaves after every mission/activity level, and I haven't had any save corruptions either so far.

Edit: Seriously? Killing Mr. Sunshine is FAR easier than killing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Veteran Child? Mission difficulty and it's progression is so horribly inconsistent.

Edit 2: Fixed the health and Samedi boss fight issues:

Edit 3: Get GOG exe and run game in windowed/borderless for the most stable experience

Refer to KF2 review:

+ KF1's a broken mess imo. I don't get how I put so many hours into it considering it has the worst hitboxes I've seen in gaming. It's kind of unplayable in comparison to the sequel.
