A decently fun game if you like open-world sandbox games with a sci-fi and space setting! You can explore, build, fly into space, and even dog fight with other ships. It's also a fun game to pick up if you want something to do with friends.

Word of warning, though - it is difficult to ensure pc/gamepass/consoles all have the same version to be able to play together. The only other issue is that terrain modification is a bit tricky, especially in multiplayer. Not everyone can see certain modifications to the landscape that the other player has.

This game has been riddled with bugs from the start, but I am confident that, in time the devs will fix most of them. I would NOT recommend paying $60 for this game, however. Wait until it is on sale or try it out if you have game-pass...

I absolutely love strategy and 4x games. Before playing Stellaris, I was most familiar with games like Civ, Age of Empires, and the Total War series. As far as 4x, I played both StarDrive I and II and a few older ones, like Sword of the Stars.

Stellaris brings in a happy medium between these two worlds as it's not exactly a turn-based game - but you get to control the speed at which the game moves on the fly! Great for whatever mood you're in or if you like varying how long it takes to complete tasks.

Stellaris is BY FAR my FAVORITE game of all time! There is so much methodically planning that I put into every action, every move. If a certain task is not carried out as logically as possible, it might come back to bite you later on whether that be an anomaly or politics. The gameplay itself can be complex or daunting for a beginner (it has one of the steepest learning curves of games I have played) but it can also be the most rewarding. Do not let the complexity scare you away!

That being said, I would recommend this game 100% of the time to almost anyone who asks - unless your game of choice is always going to be an FPS... don't choose this.

This game really is quite good. Gives you an idea of what civilians have to deal with in times of war.

I'd recommend upgrading the kitchen, plugging a few holes in the walls, and building two beds within the first couple of days, if possible. Then, your next goal should be to make some traps for meat and a rainwater catcher. That will give you a good setup where you are less likely to run out of food / water for awhile.

The only problem that I am having at the moment is some crashing anytime between Day 12 and Day 13. I might have corrupted the save, though, because the first time I played Night 12 I had gotten a character shot and killed. Panicking, I pressed ALT+F4 so I wouldn't permanently lose this character. Ever since then, the game will crash at a random point and doesn't allow me to get to Day 13.
