Early Access Review
Early access means only 1 playable stage at time of writing.

Fun game, blessings feel powerful enough but not too strong, it would be nice if there were more "combos" instead of just stat multipliers. Items feel pretty good, Diablo like loot system, gear carries from round to round so is basically your meta progression, but there's also achievements which unlock different play styles for the character you got the achievement on.

Having maxed out difficulty, late game grinding for gear is pretty repetitive, but I'd imagine with more stages and the addition of more tiers of gear, this will improve

All in all if you like survivor-likes, this is a good pickup, although you'll run out of content in 15-20 hours unless you just like grinding for gear.

I'll be saying what everyone probably else is: queue times suck, servers suck, server maintenance timing sucks, no AU/OCE servers suck I even had a bunch of performance issues until I stuffed around with my in-game and out-of-game settings for a day or two.

But once you get passed all that, and actually get to play this game, holy moly is it a good game. Combat feels great, even on 200+ms ping, story is okay but questing is easy and straight forward so you can speedrun to end game easily if you want to. Multiple great and in-depth systems for almost whatever RPG-style elements you want. It even looks great for a F2P(mostly free, some gacha systems in play here).

There's a reason why it hit the 2nd most played game in steam history in its first week, it's a good game.

(Disclaimer, only about 30-40 of my gameplay hours are actual game play, the rest are queue waiting, or accidental AFKs with auto log out but application still running over-night)

Kind of like if X-COM and FTL had a baby. Fairly steep learning curve to get further than a few jumps in, but very rewarding when you have a grasp on how to maintain your ship and crew.

It's still clearly in early development though, so if that's an issue for you just wait for the full release. Not so much an issue of bugs, but just missing some content and balancing issues. Expecting a lot from this game down the track.

Incredibly hard, unforgiving and sometimes the map generation will screw you over and there's nothing you can do about it. But there's something about this game that just keeps drawing you back, the challenge feels rewarding, you get a little further than you did in a past round, the map generates you a pile of gold, a perfect choke point and all the resources you need and the only reason you lose the game is because you made a mistake. I've played 20 hours now and I still haven't beaten the first map, but I damn well will.

Controller support is poor, but that's literally my only complaint about this pc port of one of the worlds best classic video games. If you haven't played this game, do yourself a favor, take a month off work, buy a months worth of food, lock your doors, turn off your mobile, and go on the best adventure you will ever have.

I am in love with this game.

If you like your games spacey, open worlded (like from the moment you open up this game you can do whatever you want), with a nice global economy, and an mmo feel without the rpg elements (although there is nice space craft progression), then this game is completely for you.

With over 400 billion possible solar systems to explore (yes literally that many) this games fun never ends, it has a very clever way of letting you shoot around the stars, and when you feel like it you can dock into a nearby starport and fuel up, grab a mission or two and go jumping around the universe again.

The only cons I have with this game so far are the controls and learning curve.

Let me explain, the controls are very smooth, and allow you to control your ship with 100% accuracy, however you need to spend a good hour learning how to control the ship effectively, and good luck if you dont have a joystick as a K&M makes it somewhat difficult, although a xbox controller helps.

The game also sort of drops you in the deep end from the beginning. You load into the game (I would highly recommend watching & completing the tutorials first) and you are on your own. Very little explanation how to go about gaining in game currency, completing missions, or using the in game goods market. These things are not impossible to learn as they have a very good UI, but for new players it can be very daunting.

Overall I would give this game 8.5/10.
