Stay is not a perfect, or even excellent game, like many seem to tout. It's not very dynamically interactive. It lacks player freedom and is very linear. Its narrative is simple and often predictable. Its puzzle elements barely fit the definition, the gameplay lacks depth and replayability, the characters are generally one-note and wear their quirks on their metallic sleeves.
But the presentation, flow, environment design, worldbuilding, animations, models, lore, soundtrack, sound effects and design, models, textures, lighting... Just about everything else is either delightfully above average or knocks it out of the park. Stray is ultimately a walking simulator with some more involved moments, and if that toplevel assessment doesn't seem offputting, you will get a lot out of it.

I can't be the only one that thinks RetroArch's exposed core features are lackluster, its UI overly cluttered and hard to navigate, and its centralized configuration less than useful. For example, I wanted to add cheats to PPSSPP so that I could use a second joystick as PPSSPP supports, and to increase FPS limits, but RetroArch's cheat format is not compatible with the typical cheats.db format, which is utilized by common PSP cheat software (CWCheat) and also compatible with PPSSPP. There are no tools to convert cheats.db into RetroArch's unique cheat file format, you must do it manually. PPSSPP has a built-in conversion feature but the RetroArch core does not provide it/make it accessible. Why not just use native PPSSPP? What benefit other than cloud saves does RetroArch provide? A centralized place for all emulation? But there are cores missing in the Steam version that you must manually import if you want to use them, so the ease of use is not there. The UI is clunky and things are hard to find, further limiting the ease of use. Ultimately it is easier for me to just run everything on my Deck and connect to my PC's monitor if I want to play there, rather than copy saves over.

great atmospheric tracks in FLAC. only one I don't love is the instruments in Intruder, rest is fire.

Loud Music is a bop that punches you and laughs for its entire runtime. Favorite track.

Gunfire Reborn is a decent game with very little replayability. Once you beat the final boss, that's it: there are no new areas, no new enemies except for the alternate bosses, and the only content left to unlock are the pips on the talent tree and new scrolls. The difficulty selection only increases elite enemy spawn rates, increases their HP, and adds more elite types to the pool.

If you don't find the main combat loop fun, there is nothing left for you in this game. If you do like it, then you won't be able to play it for long before replaying the same adventure starts to get boring, even if you only open it every once and a while when you want something to occupy your time.

The dailies are interesting twists, but you don't get any rewards for beating them and matchmaking is disabled, so I don't see the point in bothering with them.

An endless mode would really help the game out, since every session is essentially the same once you get the good scrolls unlocked and your talent tree filled out: Keep playing until you get good scrolls, then steamroll everything in front of you, beat the final boss, and repeat. There is a distinct lack of felt challenge once you get to this endgame, so an endless mode that makes the game exponentially harder as you go would give a new challenge to veterans and a longer gameplay loop for those that don't want to be forced to stop at the last boss. It would be very easy to do from a game design perspective so I don't see a reason why they can't do this. Even easier would be to simply take the arena maps and scenarios that are already in the game and make them endless, with rewards given at landmarks and after killing big bosses or passing demonic events.

- Performance is absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible for how basic a game it is, I had to reload multiple times due to black screens when loading or FPS getting progressively worse over time
- Physics are incredibly wonky; aside from everyone being made of rubber bands and/or jelly, the orc flips out sometimes and parts of him will disappear in some scenes, especially if the FPS are low
- Models have clipping issues with just about anything they come into contact with
- Sometimes characters disappear for a scene or two or show up in the wrong locations (like Ava lying on the couch, floating 5 feet away from it, or orc MC's thumbcuffs floating after the scene ends)
- VAs range from passable to annoying, elf ♥♥♥♥♥ is particularly bad
- All of the available gameplay is boring after 5 minutes with nothing to switch it up
- No stomach deformation (important)
- No reason to make money after you unlock 3rd or 4th tier stamina, the rest of the upgrades are completely unnecessary
- If you don't care about getting a good rank, you don't even need to get any upgrades at all and can get by with what you start with
- There is no punishment for failure, not that the game poses any challenge to warrant failing
- Next to no character development (not that I really expected any)

Absolutely definitely not worth $14.99 in its current state. I wouldn't pay $10 for it.

Saving grace is the facial animations are nice, and the character designs are good.

Fantastic gameplay. Feels like an actual game. Unlike many other recently released games.

Pretty much the same problem that Dead Rising had in its later sequels: lost the original luster of the first game. No longer "co-op survival horror", more wacky haha and microtransactions.
