I settled my divorce with this app and all I got was the sandwich press and the kids once a fortnight. 9/10 would use this to mediate again.

My recommendation is based on price point. I would recommend this maybe at $10-20 AUD but I wouldn't recommend anywhere near AAA price. The game offers nothing overtly unique about space exploration and stays vanilla in terms of its offering for NPC's and alien enemies. Everything feels dry, stale and safe. The 'Nasa-Punk' aesthetic is actually kinda cool, and I got a good 25 hours of enjoyment out of it, but at that mark I felt like I had seen everything and there was no hook, or NPC or unique selling point, that was keeping me playing.

What a fantastic game. The concept is simple and small in scope, and tells the story within a world that is in disharmony. I really enjoyed each interrogation and nothing felt like it was repeating itself in terms of each story. When I finished, I wanted to interrogate more. Its a really nice idea, that could be expanded on and I'll be keen to see more from this devteam.

As a developer myself, my heart goes out to James and his team with the recent Unity bull****. May the next game be in Godot or UE5. Cheers to that and f*** unity

I am so pleased to have seen this game grow throughout its development and finally be able to now own and play it from my own library. Pat, what an amazing game you've paint'sakinginly made over the last 7 years! (I am not sorry for the pun). Absolutely in love with the calming sound design/track. So happy to see this out there! <3

My played time is the most amount I could put into it before wanting to ALT F4. Incredibly rigid conversation that have incredibly weird pacing and cadence to them. The age gap, and creepiness to the protagonist is gross. I had to quit at the singing. DON'T PUT SINGING IN THERE.... yuck

I play walking sims for the writing and whatever story it was trying to tell. The story, dialogue and reveal was all horrendous. The payoff and reward for playing this is an emotion that I can only describe as incredibly dissatisfied. Sorry devs. Ill play your other stuff, but this had some really poor writing.

Conceptually I love the premise of The Magic Circle (this game), I also love the concept of Huizinga's Magic Circle/Virtual Worlds. Playing this game as a game designer myself, I was really interested to see how this meta-game-design game would play out and unfortunately it fell a bit short.

First of all I want to say that I didn't overly dislike this game, I just think it was fairly cringy in a few areas which really hindered my experience.

The voice actors were instantly recognisable, and their delivery was great. It was the story and the script, trying to be this deep meta-design exploration is where it fell short. Either via the cringy monologues from the character Ish, or the streamer pixie dream girl character Coda and Ex-Esports chartacter. The writing is over the top, and really detracts from the nice elements of this game. The game would have been infinitely better if the story was spread out more, and the writing wasn't so 'melodramatic'. No fan, now employee would act like this. No designer would act like this... I understand the commentary but this was done poorly.

What I liked was the puzzles based around rewriting NPC's in the world. The graphics were nice, both in the black and white, and the old pixel form. The mechanics surrounding the life system was new and interesting. The end of the game actually has you make your own small level, and it has a interest meter which also was a really nice way to think about games. Its just a shame the Coda, Ish story dampened the experience.

If there was less of the actual 'fake designers' in this game, I would recommend it. Instead, I had to push myself to play it. In other words, my meter was set to numb every time a character spoke.

Bought this on discount and still disappointed. Sorry.

Fantastic game to play with friends. Have no real desire to play with randoms so don't have to worry about hackers. Sucks to hear, but this review and recommendation is for those who have friends. Sorry to those who don't. For small groups of friends (4-6) Modification is a really enjoyable game mode to play.

For those complaining about the graphics. The graphics are a stylised pixel shader. It works really well, especially on the model, and the smaller props.
