34 stomachs, 34 mouths to feed. there at the end of all things, you will strive to fry an egg atop Mount Everest.

a short 3 hour experience with a scrumptiously diverse soundtrack. well worth $10.

Like playing an interactive (and extremely detailed) fantasy novel. It pays to keep a little notepad to remember important things about important people or places, as you can often use that information later. Great with a glass of something smooth and complex.

An exceedingly well-developed art style combines with an engaging story that does not let go until it's through with you. This old Seaman's tale is primarily spun though the medium of intricate dioramas. These dioramas go a long way in aiding the player while still allowing them to use their intelligence to deduce the doomed crew's fate, and Pope has done a stellar job in making each character look and sound unique.

However, even after you finally put all the pieces of the story together, it can leave you a bit confused and wanting for clarity, though it never outstays it's welcome. Then again, that's likely a symptom of Pope's style. As he stated in a May 2022 interview, "Where a lot of my games end up (...) I have a lot of the pieces of a game that I think maybe could be put together to make a good game, but I don’t know what that thing at the end is yet."

Absolutely worth the money. I'd recommend keeping a small notebook while you play.

Early Access Review
Death Trash is an amazing idea for a game and the product that we have access to now is a solid foundation. However, development is a bit slow. I played this game all the way through about 10 months ago and since then the only content I cant think of that was added are new enemies.

I hope this game receives more support in the future so development can hurry along, but in it's current state you are mostly paying to support development...possibly more than most other early access titles I've played.

This game is impressive given that the small developer it came from, Blackbird Interactive, is mostly known for it's Minecraft: Legends title.

And while it's true this game doesn't have hundreds of hours of content, I don't think that's a drawback like many detractors would have you believe. Not every game needs to suck away my time for hundreds of hours. However, I think that what's here in terms of game play is truly innovative.

This game is one that I will definitely find myself coming back to when I want to relax and methodically disassemble something, or...maybe pour over every detail of the process, learn the ship inside and out, and slam that ♥♥♥♥ into the processor as fast as possible. The story, centered around issues of corporate power and workers' rights, has a really great conceptual foundation that's mostly delivered through radioed monologues from co-workers and text files. That's something I appreciate, but I recognize that some feel differently.

Of course, not everything is perfect. My complaints are this:
1) I really wish the story had a stronger ending, because the concept and rising action are so well-paced and written. I hope that a future update will flesh out the rough edges of the game's story a little more.

2) The B-Story doesn't really go anywhere. The Machine God concept is a good one, and I think that Blackbird could do so much more with it than they have. In it's current iteration, it simply exists as a few in-game lore pickups that you can find on special ships.

3) There isn't much variety between variants of the same ship (think: mining, research, cargo, etc.), nor are there many base ship models to begin with. Replay-ability would really benefit from designing a few more ships that have different applications.

4) Finally, I would like to see more intricate ship systems to dismantle. As it stands now, there are only a few of these- Reactors level one/two, the power generator, and maybe power cells. I want hazards to navigate as the game progresses. As it stands now, difficulty and complexity hits a plateau pretty early in the campaign.

Solidarity.

One of the coolest games I've ever played. Constantly evolving, the story continuously grips you even after multiple failures. Which, as a roguelite (which still does not accurately capture this game's genre), is very important. The card game itself is solid, very solid. I'd bet that even people who don't traditionally enjoy card games may enjoy this one. It's sufficiently complex while also being very easy to pick up.

Amazing, and I'm very excited to see what else Daniel Mullins Games puts out in the future.

Good game with a bland interface obscuring it's depth of content. Somewhat daunting upon first glance, but after 30 minutes you figure out how it all works and what it all means. A little too much of a numbers game, but all-in-all a somewhat accurate top-down and abstracted depiction of national and some international politics.

The guiding ideology of the developers is most almost certainly staunchly neoliberal, as creating a capitalist plutocracy or sometimes state capitalist dictatorship almost always results in a win state. Any other socioeconomic order usually doesn't work out without cheesing the game due to it's reliance on GDP growth year over year rather than things like well instated social programs or public satisfaction.
