I am not a fan of writing reviews, however.. KCD 2 is a game that deserves one.

I was wondering when I'd come across a game that I could call "the best game I have ever played" and KCD 2 turned out to be that game for me. It is not perfect, but it's damn close to perfect and that means a lot. Maybe it is because I am a sucker for anything medieval, but that really can't just be it.

The story, the characters, the cutscenes and the way the quests are designed around giving you all kinds of freedom, AND consequences of your actions... It all came together and formed this beautiful game.

Needless to say, I am very excited to see what the future holds for Warhorse Studios, as well as the amazing Tom McKay and Luke Dale.

Grown man's Palworld

A very-well made game, can easily recommend it to medieval and low-fantasy lovers. It is also a great substitute to Warband and Bannerlord, Wartales provides the sense of substantial goals that Bannerlord lacks in the long run, while also presenting a good main story and somewhat repetitive side quests.

Since everyone's review bombing this because of the optimization, I'll do a review about everything in the game but the optimization.

Gameplay is fun, and the combat is pretty much Dead Space with a touch of modern melee combat. Although it may feel random at times, most of the time it is satisfying and thrilling to brawl hideous mutants up close. My only problem with gameplay so far is that at some parts the game just drowned me in waves upon waves of enemies after making me fall from a slippery edge for the 100th time, it just felt like a chore several times. Thankfully there is a lot of room for creativity when it comes to killing mutants so you can get some enjoyment out of it.

Sound team did a good job on this one however there are times where you just can't tell the reasoning behind some of the ambient noises, and sometimes you can't tell if you are hearing something in front of you or behind you.

Graphics are incredible, simply stunning. Callisto Protocol doesn't rely on its graphics engine, it has a great art style as well, and the game does a great job at capturing the atmosphere it requires to immerse the player.

I am near the end of the story and can't say much about it without finishing it, but I don't have a lot of positive things to say about it up to this part. It has been nothing special so far, been seeing a lot of cliché but I'd say at least the pacing is quite enjoyable.


With all that being said, I can't suggest buying this game until devs actually fix the optimization. This kind of behavior from developers has to stop, and they deserve every single negative review for releasing this game in this state with a good conscience.

If you think the OST is the only great thing about this game, you are terribly wrong. The combat is amazing, I've never experienced such a big progress in myself, fights which seem impossible at first look become quite easy after getting used to the patterns and the flow of the fight. You will be surprised to see what you are capable of. Story is great, but not everyone will agree with me on that one. Game Bakers have done a great job, I would love to see more from them.

Underrated as hell. Everytime i see this game, i wanna beat it again. Despite i already beat it 3 times.
