Post Detail Update:

The game is in a much better state than it was... but I still find a hard time recommending it (certainly not for full price). There have been numerous improvements to performance and more however there are enough hitches and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that it does sometimes break the immersion of the game.

I still find that I can spend hours managing traffic and building out my city, but find that things like traffic, and intercity transport dont seem to make a lot of sense comparatively to CS1.

The game is heading in the right direction, and with much MUCH better support for mods and assets than CS1, (I am actually finding the paradox mods system is actually quite easy to use, but still boo not steam workshop), and actually with all this said I am going to say yes I *would* recommend CS2 as long as it continues in the direction that it is in.

It is such a pity but in its current state it is just not better than Cities Skylines One. I keep coming back to this game and playing it a bit but poor performance (on a 3070 and Ryzen 5600X etc system) is a massive hinderance (I play in 4k, with DLSS but 1% lows just make it too choppy and it looks awful on low settings). I will update this review with a date on each time of when I try it and when its ready.

Also really upsetting that mods moved off of the steam workshop. Will likely be playing CS1 in the meantime.

A brilliant eclectic mess of factories, organisation and a brilliantly fun game for anyone with even the mildest of OCD.
Exploration is fun but building massive factories is much more fun :)
Really nice graphics, especially in arachnophobia mode (nice touch).
Haven't tried multiplayer much yet but if it is anything as good as single player then this game is fully worth £30. Nice to have a game with no micro transactions these days too

Despite the game being complete-able within an hour to 100% with all achievements, this game is wonderful.
One of the best 58 minutes I have spent. The graphics are pleasant, the story-writing is simple but easy to follow and the whole game is so sedate that it could easily have been a sloth. Game play is clean and simple; it wasn't designed to be a challenging, complex game.
This is completely a work of art.
