Listen, it's hard to measure up to its predecessor, and I think people would have had things to say no matter what. It's a very different game story wise, which some people would think is incredibly engaging, others would think it's holding your hand through the story. If you can put aside your expectations for something alike to Subnautica 1, you will really really really enjoy this game.

Early Access Review
Every time I load into a lobby the game crashes within 2 minutes. Changed my settings to low, turned off volumetric lighting and turned v sync on and off, all same result. Also the menus seem to have no correlation with what settings are being adjusted. I get it's early access, but this game is a piece of garbage. Come back after they get out of alpha.

Plays crucible.
Killed within 10 seconds by a flawless execution hunter.

Pretty great, but some pretty significant performance drops out of nowhere.

After just short of an hour, I am requesting a refund.
There are a few reasons why.
First of all, for a game that just reuses models and textures over and over, it is an incredibly resource heavy/poorly optimised game. On the lowest settings possible, I get 30 FPS, and on high I get 35 - that with the constant frame rate drops makes it nearly unplayable.
The voice acting is horrid, the premise is stupid and most of all, relying on 'jump scares' (if you can even call them that) with absolutely no substance or immersion to me, makes an awful horror game.
I was looking forward to an occult/Lovcraftian horror walking sim, but I don't even know what to call this.

Not very far into the gae, but in it's current form, at least on my pc, performance is a sh*t show. I can normally run most AAA games on ultra @ 100-120 fps, but even on the LOWEST settings I can barely crack 30.
It's a shame, because I like the game so far. I will have to come back to it when there's been some updates to fix this.

As much as this game is lacking in some areas, Vampyr is a phenomenal game where your choices seem to really have an impact on the outcome of the story. Kill an entire area for high xp and suffer the consequences, or kill no one and have a real challenge ahead of you.
Dontnod has delivered, despite what many are saying, and can't wait to see more from them.
