Simple and fun

Great variety of playstyles from science to religion. The amount of leaders and ways to operate the field still feel daunting after 40 hours played. The AI can be really punishing if there is no military built (which I've learned the hard way multitude of times), so only focusing on one path doesn't seem like an option, pushing the player to expand their strategy.

From the perspective of a new player the games feel long even on the 'online' speed. For me personally the game requires great focus to enjoy the time spent. Playing easily becomes mindless clicking of 'end turns' sucking the fun out of the game.

If you can tolerate spending 2 to 15 hours on a match and losing with 15 turns to go, this game is for you. If not I'd look somewhere else.

Beautiful all the way.

I really love this game for what it is. The world is beautiful. The soundtrack is beautiful. The concept is great. The narrator is great. Although i had to go from epic settings in the first environment, to medium in the second and to low in third, the game still looked good great. The narrating grew on me during the game and at the end i really appreciated it. The choice for the color palet and the graphics style was spot on. The AI of the enemies can be pretty elementary from time to time, but i had fun time playing from the beginning to end. Will definitely show this to other people and replay it myself.

Note: I did face a couple minor issues during the game, but nothing groundbreaking. The baby mammoth (or the controls) glitched out once after a fight and once before, where i was not able to get the baby back moving or for it to stand still. The problem either fixed itself at the end of a fight or i was able to get the baby moving by using a berry, although the baby was full health already. Not sure if these were glitches or just designed that way for those moments, but it felt a little odd not being able to control the baby. Other than that everything ran great.

Simple, chaotic and fun for two hours. Lacks replayability and certain parts drag on longer than they should, but the concept is great and the style is unique. Wouldn't pay full price, but worth it in the 5-10€'ish range.
