A great game when you want something fast-paced that will test your reflexes! Very smart game design, slick and clear graphism (desactivate dynamic camera if that bothers you).

Not very long lifespan, except if you want to chase the high score but great experience still, I recommend.

Review for people that doesn't own the game:

Pros:
+++++ Lovable characters
++++ Great soundtrack
++ Nice overall story and theme
++ Good visuals, a bit weird with the mix of styles (2D, 3D, 3D "chibi")
Superb early game:
++ Very good progressive addition to new mechanics to keep it fresh and non-overwhelming at the start!
+ Enough variety to make the game cycle enjoyable, between brewing "puzzle", visual novel talks, deck creation for haggling session. They all work together nicely.

Cons:
----- End of the game saturated and bloated, making it a bit long and tedious
--- Some quality of life features are terribly lacking
- Lack of replayability, or challenge mode
- Lack of difficulty-choice

======================================================

More details for the devs:

Pros:
You nailed it at the beginning! I'd say until day 20 it's perfect.

Cons:
End of the game saturated and bloated, making it a bit long and tedious
----- End of the game felt like a burden to go through in order to "see the end", There is 50 days in total and starting around day 35 , I felt like days were dragging for too long and the game was "already" won.
--- Unlocking multiple of the same things makes the game not deeper but just less interesting: 6 cauldrons to brew is too much and feel like a burden to keep them busy (especially because of the lack of QoL I write about below), 4 aging barrels as well doesn't get much use for it and make it cumbersome to keep them busy (so I eventually stopped using them at all, except for the contest potion), 3 different adventurers that are mostly the same for the purpose of adventuring...meh
- I understand the number of characters is too high already, but very sad that boss #3 and #4 are not developed so much. Maybe keeping some of the new mechanics like marketing or treasure hunting to be unlocked at D30 with the Shark. I feel there is no new content after D20 and the slime garden.

Some quality of life features are terribly lacking:
-- Why can't you save a potion configuration? You found the perfect balance for a given potion but cannot save it, I have a folder full of screenshots because of that^^ even if they become a bit obsolete after you buy the new cauldrons
-- You cannot see the custom orders when you are travelling (like being at the shop or at the enchantress...)
- Some place you can use the filters, others not
- You cannot upgrade stuff in your shop when you're travelling or even see what it would require to be upgraded.
- You cannot save while traveling

I love games where you have to manage your resources in the adversity. Unfortunately, most of the time, as the game gets longer, it's getting repetitive and tedious to play (I'm looking at you Civilization!).

Against the Storm is perfect with its ~2h game approach, once you conquered the unique challenges of your run you are rewarded and can go to the next challenge.

I mentioned the "unique challenges", it's where all that game values come from and they did an awesome job at that! They are very varied from game to game to renew the experience! There is enough:
- Biomes (type of map with different ressources available)
- Special landmark where you can place your colony to have a modifier (often an additional challenge)
- Prestige system, each game won let you try the next difficulty level (until level 20)
- Randomness that forces you to adapt:
-- Effects of the storm that varies between game (positive effects during Drizzle, negative effects during the storm) etc.
-- The events (challenges when opening glades in the forest)
-- The blueprints (to build buildings),
-- The cornerstones (unique powers that you receive for free each year),
-- The goods/perks/blueprints brought by the traders
-- You got the points, quite a lot of system that works very well together and add the complexity and diversity required for each game to be interesting.

The only con that bothered me was the fact that you can increase difficulty only 1 Prestige level at a time, and if you are good at those kind of games you'll just win a lot of your games! Combined with the meta-progression, the risk of having it "too easy" can be annoying for people that like to challenge themselves.

Anyway, in conclusion, go for it! It's a pearl of game design, great art, music and just a pleasure to play!

+ Conclusion +

Really cool Co-op game, always keeping you entertained with new ideas and concepts. Friend's pass (playing online) worked perfectly as well.
