"Mafia: Definitive Edition" is a stunning remake that breathes new life into a classic. Right off the bat, the graphics are a knockout. The developers have done an incredible job at overhauling the visuals, making the city of Lost Heaven not just beautiful, but also incredibly immersive. The lighting and weather effects are especially noteworthy, adding a layer of realism that the original couldn't dream of.

The story remains true to the original, and that's a good thing. It's a gripping tale of loyalty, betrayal, and the gritty underworld of the 1930s. The voice acting and character animations add depth to the narrative, making you feel every twist and turn of Tommy Angelo's journey.

Gameplay-wise, it's a mixed bag. The driving feels authentic to the era, which means it's a bit clunky by today's standards, but it adds to the authenticity. The shooting mechanics are decent, though not groundbreaking. They've made some tweaks here and there to modernize the gameplay, but it still feels a bit dated in places.

Where this remake really shines is in its attention to detail. The city is bustling with life, and there are plenty of side missions and collectibles to keep you engaged. The soundtrack, oh man, it's just spot on, capturing the essence of the era perfectly.

However, it's not without its flaws. There are some technical glitches here and there, and the AI can be a bit wonky at times. Also, if you're not a fan of linear games, this might not be your cup of tea, as it doesn't offer much in terms of open-world exploration.

Overall, "Mafia: Definitive Edition" is a labor of love that pays homage to the original while offering a fresh experience. It's a must-play for fans of the series and a great entry point for newcomers. It's not just a game; it's a time machine back to the roaring '30s. Solid 8.5/10.

a great start to a superb trilogy. yes, the game has aged, but in 2023 it’s just as fun to play as it was 14 years ago on the x-box. long live rocksteady

Early Access Review
If the developer believes that giving the game to the children of those who are bombing Ukrainian cities is a good idea, then perhaps he should consider distributing an additional free copy of the game to the Israelis. I would recommend that the developer use the kitchen microwave for its intended purpose, as its size seems to be suitable

btw, progress from the demo doesnt transfer to the full version😭
