This is a very interesting take on the old tower defense formula.
One could describe it as an action tower defense meets regicide.
Passive and active attacks, towers, respawning soldiers, you know the drill.
But her, you play as the king and only as the king.

Nice one!

Do I recommend this, yes or no?
Yes.
Do I enjoy the game?
Not really.

It's good, don't get me wrong, I want to like it. The port is good, I love that Sony released it. And you can even play this with mouse and keyboard, better even than with a controller. Kudos!
But this is just not my Ratchet anymore.
Do you remember the original Trilogy? Did you like the characters?
If so, better ignore this game, because you will not recognize them, all bright and fluffy and bland without any edge or dimension to them.

If you can look past this, I'm not blaming you, I applaud you, I wish I could just enjoy this more.

This game is nice, but bland, so very very bland and it didn't have to be.
Press F to pay respect, Ratchet died a long time ago and there is an imposter on the loose.

Incredibly cute, well paced and nicely told.
This is the sort of game where you find yourself using the dedicated meow-button constantly, especially during times where you are scratching on doors or interact with NPCs. It doesn't change anything in-game, but it really helps to set the mood.
This is one of the very big games, one of those you will still talk about in 20 years, not because it defined or created a genre, but because it is incredibly well built and there really is nothing like it.

This is brilliant! I stumbled upon this gift of a software just before I wanted to create something similar to it out of frustration that there was no simple planetary reandomizer with some neat sliders.
It tooke me minutes to create the map I wanted, you guys just essentially saved me weeks of time!

There are only two problems remaining:
1. Since it is so fast and easy I created 9 maps instead of one and now I cannot decide which one to use.
2. I *really* wanted to support the developers, but a quick search did not bear any way. Let me pay for the hours saved, please! You earned it!

I really love this game, but I cannot play it regularily and therefore there usually is an update in between my sessions and I cannot start the game without major glitches almost every time.
This time it was like a flickering on the right eye which I cannot get rid of.
In the previous version everything ran perfectly, nice tracking, nice graphics, no glitches, no nothing.
Downgrading sadly is not an option.
If valve wills it, Alyx is a great experience, especially on the index.
But as it is, it is just one additional argument why VR is just not there yet and probably never will be.
One update might make or break your game, you will try everything from updating drivers, reinstalling the game, firmware, Steam VR, reconfiguring the room setup.
I eventually gave up and wrote this review.

Give me the option to downgrade, damnit!

Super awesome hacky slashy 3rd person action. More Diablo than Diablo 3, free to play and constantly expanded. Did I mention the huge skill tree?

I cannot even set the options. As it askes me if I want to keep the current settigns I can only click through the message.

I liked Fallout, I loved Fallout 2, Tactics and Brotherhood of Steel were not my cup of tea.
Fallout 3 gave all that an interesting new angle. As in a third dimension.
The third Fallout was a very good game with some serious flaws (primarily the lame main quests and the ending) and flair and atmosphere seeking their equals.
Fallout New Vegas was the better game and the true sequel to Fallout 2. New Vegas may have it´s flaws, but it is very close to a perfect game.

Fallout 4 on the other hand is clusterd with serious design flaws that just ruined the whole game for me.
Before I postet this review I have played about 170 hours and enjoyed nearly nothing of it.
But this review is not simply the frustration of a long term fan, I waited nearly a year to maybe come to terms with it.

One of the main problem is having a fully synchronised player character, or rather two of them, one female and one male,
but having basically no dialogue options. Yes, no, ask and sarcastic often do exactly the same and/or do not match the short text snippets.
Fallout 4 does neither look, nor play good or fresh.
Picking up trash is a common gameplay element in previous games, but in this one the weapon durability system is gone.
Some may disagree here, but I liked it a lot, especially as it acts like a natural garbage collector and cleans up my inventory in F4 this feature is missing and for townbuilding and crafting, collecting junk is key.
So I have to collect more Junk but cannot clean up my inventory? Bad design.

A power armor should give me extra carryweight as it is an exoskeleton, but it seriously is more practical to sew some pockets to my regular clothing. If I am at carryweight limit with those clothes and I get into a pwer armor, the effects of my clothes get overwritten and my char overburdened.

The jetpack is quite cool though. Too bad it´s only available for power armor.
Oh and did I mention that those do need energy cells? Brilliant!

In Fallout, there always was that wonderful SPECIAL-system with perks and traits.
It was well established and designed well.
It may have its flaws, but on the other hand, who is perfect?
Guess what they threw out and replaced it with a 3d-table-junk?
And the few skills left are not used in dialogue (except the speech-skill).

But the worst design flaw in this game is that they changed the whole design of key elements (nuka cola, ghouls, cars...), therefore a huge apect about "feeling home" in this world is ripped away.

It is nice however to finally see the institute mentioned in Mr. House´s obituary and F3.

This is simply one of the best RPGs ever created, it spawned a Series of 3 games and one abomination and has cult status in Germany. Everyone interested in RPGs should at least give it a try.
The controls are something to get used to, but once you master it, you will certainly have a lot of fun and experience an epic story in a credible environment.
Gothic is open world, but at the beginning it is simply impossible to reach most areas as the enemies are way to tough and will kill you in one blow. On the other hand, character progression feels very powerful and you will find yourself yearning each next level.
Gothic 1 and 2 are, simply put, masterpieces of a rare kind and a must own for every loving gamer.
