Low FPS and frequent stutters for no reason on a high-end PC, not recommended.

Remnant II is basically a Souls-like co-op game but with shooting mechanics which is always good as it breaks the monotonous combat loop (dodge/melee) of the genre and it's only an improvement over its predecessor, Remnant I.

The game feels challenging enough, it's visually pleasing, the audio cues are reliable and the soundtrack makes boss fights feel epic. There is quite a bit of class & build diversity you can tap into and a plethora of cool puzzles if you are a fan of that.

Also, it doesn't feel like a grind fest; I personally didn't grind at all to finish my first playthrough; I just kept progressing. Then it's up to you I suppose how much you wanna push your character to farm higher difficulties for replayability.

Be warned though that this game is incredibly heavy on your system (*cough UE5*) and it's a total valid reason for anyone to not recommend this game. If you want to run above 100 frames (it has uncapped fps which is a +) you will need a beast rig with upscaler enabled and I am pretty sure many people with decent PC's will struggle running this at 60 fps.

As an added bonus there is no in game cash shop and microtransactions at all. I will give this an upvote as it's a solid game but do as you wish based on what I said above especially in regards to performance.

Around 20 minutes of gametime in total and I refunded the game, I don't know what's wrong with it but the frame rates are probably from the most unstable I've seen (~100 fps dips); so yes I instantly refunded the game.

I can't comment about anything else, the game might be great (or bad) but the initial impressions regarding performance didn't worth the effort for further investigation/playtime.

The alpha/beta phase is over; the game is in a good condition right now, however there is no solo play yet (if ever) and crafting still requires immense amount of grind.

Overall a very solid game that runs exceptionally well, with satisfying gameplay that seems like a modernized version of old Doom.

- Pretty graphics and decent overall level design and atmosphere
- Most guns feel great to use, I could just play with 2-3 guns whole game np
- Awesome gore effects that make the gunplay even more satisfying
- Fast movement (nothing too fancy) dash + double jump etc.
- No performance issues or stutters in the slightest
- Great map editor for game longevity and replayability
- Coop and multiplayer (not enough people play that tho)
- Nice sounds + cool soundtrack

Just a few points that need to be changed/improved:

- The respawn system needs to change to make it more challenging
- Make multiplayer somehow more appealing, not many people seem to choose it
- Not a super fan of constantly reloading weapons but it's ok I guess
- Chaingun movement penalty needs to go, you are a sitting duck while using it
- Blue reskined enemies are meh, we need more monster variety

Thumbs up, I hope you keep improving the game as time goes on because the potential is definitely there, it's a great game.

Edit: Some recommendations after checking the multiplayer (which is very fun I gotta say) that will greatly enhance the experience while playing:

a) Let people join midway in games at least in DM/TDM, same when solo to check maps
b) There is no in game or lobby chat so people can't really communicate
c) Players start with punches which is obviously anti-fun, we need the pistol
d) Also I couldn't check the scoreboard (maybe I am wrong though)
e) And maybe the implementation of some kind of leader boards

It's a fun retro horde shooter that forces you to dodge a lot. It certainly has lots of obvious areas for improvement, but most of the negative reviews are from people getting stomped or have no clue how the game works. So, if you can't progress through the game instead of ragequitting I advice you to reduce the difficulty, it's not a shame.

After playing for a few hours (on normal & hard) and reaching up to the first boss of the west wing I noticed the game is pretty challenging and you can't just face rush everything, you gotta dodge/hide and in some occasions aim decently well to survive against enemies that abuse verticallity. The game runs excellent for me with no issues and I haven't encountered any bugs as of yet (I didn't try coop at all though where people seem to encounter issues).

As for the gameplay itself the gunplay and shooting is kinda bare-bones and basic, it works. But it gets pretty tiring when your starting gun (although being good) is pretty much all you are using. There needs to be some short of balance patch regarding weapons and ammo management - there are literally ammo boxes everywhere that you can't use because you don't even have any new weapons and even if you manage to find a new one their ammo is so limited compared to the infinite ammo of the starting rifle.

The base movement of the character is pretty high and it has a small element of air control when you are jumping, not exactly that good as in Doom Eternal or Quake games, which makes it not that usable. But having fast base walking speed at least makes up for it. Also, there is the usual dash-dodge that can also be used to wreck enemies.

Generally the resource system of the game is kinda bad, the shards that drop from enemies I have no idea what they are used for (scoring sytem?), also your character has multiple lives which I also don't get it, why not just have 1 life and make it count with more HP. In addition to the above, you are seriously dependant on finding health pick ups that are scattered around the map and you have no clue where they could be, but with practice you learn to find them somehow and survive the levels and ofc as I mentioned before the ammo boxes that are 90% of the time useless for you.

Another thing that bothered me was the map navigation system. Since, most of the levels in each wing look familiar you don't really have a clue where you are supposed to go and you can get lost especially if you are a new player. That thing they call a map is too abstract along with the symbols. But you learn to adjust as I did and navigation will be improved the more you play.

Some other annoying elements, are the environmental damage that 1 shots you, the fodder that just do nothing and the reskined enemies, the face screen clean (at least you can disable it), some bosses locked behind tons of runes (but I guess that's how the game is meant to be played, to gather runes) and the kinda annoying bloom which can tire your eyes. Gun sounds and animations could use some work as well.

As a conclusion don't expect this being Doom Eternal but with coop. It's a super basic maze style retro shooter but with a solid base to enjoy yourself for some hours.
I wouldn't have recommended this game if it was made from a bigger studio, but since it's a small indie one you could give this a try. The game is quite affordable with decent fundamentals and devs that seem to be hearing the early feedback.

Edit: Finished the game, here is a vid containing all boss fights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=439tvD8Ftnw

This is one of the best racing simulators out of the box by far and here is why:

- Super cheap for the vast amount of content it provides especially if you find it on sale (the exact opposite of Iracing)
- Massive modding community that makes the game even better (tracks, cars etc.)
- Great visuals and graphics that get amplified even more with mods
- Runs flawlessly without any problems, no complaints from the sound engine either
- Incredibly realistic driving as you would expect from any sim
- Very good FFB, some consider it still from the best as it's very responsive and not "bloaty"
- You can race, drift or even rally in tarmac depending on what you like the most
- Great replay and photo systems capable of capturing high quality cinematic shots/vids
- Although a steering wheel is recommended you can enjoy it with any input (controller, k&m)

Buy the Ultimate edition as it is the best value for your money and then install Content Manager + Custom Shader Patch for the best experience.

This game has a main problem, it has to decide weather it wants to be more arcade style gun and run fps like CoD or BF or a more tactical and slower military shooter - having both makes no sense.
Something else I don't like is that you can't even refund it because when u download their launcher (why?) it counts as playtime and on top of that when you want to unistall the game itself it only removes the game launcher and you have to manually delete the folder to get rid of the game.

Other than that it plays kinda well, sometimes it's kinda clunky though because of this identity crisis. The gunplay is decent and the game runs relatively well, bigger maps are more demanding. But I have to thumbs down this game due to reasons mentioned above, if you wanna try it wait for them to leave EA or buy on sale if there is one.

It has some decent potential, but overall very lazy job by the devs. Lots of bugs with UI and weapons hiding or movement glitching. Also, the performance is below average especially when you kill a bot/player you will get a stutter not to mention the game literally eats insane amount of RAM.

Noticed all this in just below 1 hour of playing, so you could imagine what you will come across after days of playing. Bad try to revive an Unreal Tournament type of game overall, don't recommend it at it's current state.
