(Hades2 is the "The New Colossus" to Hades1's "The New Order")

TLDR: Game's great, but feels subpar to SuperGiant's ridiculously high standards, so Hades1 - for coherent storytelling and consistency, Hades2 - for more diverse gameplay.

.. to elaborate:
- True & Epilogue Ending both are mediocre at best (the patch only made it a smidge better)
- just time-travel in general messing up the whole premise and post-game justifications
- some NPC arcs falling flat (Chronos, Hypnos)
- subplots going nowhere or lacking a satisfying resolution. Hades1 Sisyphus stayed for Boldy, Hades2 NPCs stay because of the "NPC in a rogue-like" reason - they can have it better, but none take the opportunity or, in some cases, even move (Tartatus couple).

.. the rest are nitpicks - outlandish style choices (suited Chaos; Dionysus's attire; the Oceanus boss - albeit entertaining but still too whimsical), tame weapon aspects (save for a few), flat God portraits (poses, not animations), boring +5% upgrades (Moon tree), ubiquitous status curses with similar effects.

Mechanically Hades2 is super fun, the surface climb is awesome, the music\songs are beautiful, some characters do leave an impression, not to mention the overall level of polish and attention to details - this is still SuperGiant!
.. but I enjoyed Hades1 more..
