Do a gainer on your skateboard and shoot a guy.

It's sick.

I despise gooner games but even I found this really enjoyable to play, the combat is just really good, absolute excellency for a 10$ game.

It's a fun game that runs like crap for 70$,
It's also a step backwards in several ways compared to the prequel, weirdly enough.
Get it on sale for sub-30.

Honestly plays really well. It's relatively challenging at the early game so far, and really has a fun dungeon delving vibe, unsurprisingly. If it had a more defined artstyle, and took itself a bit more seriously, it'd be an easy recommend, but if you're not used to unity-indie game jank or poor english in your item descriptions, I can see it not being to personal appeal.

Solid stuff, nonetheless.

It's like Tarkov but on steam, it's coop, and it's somehow less jank despite just releasing. You can even customize the AI difficulty to make them head/eyes you with a 1 frame reaction speed like the authentic tarkov experience.

It's amazing.

That aside it's still a WIP, you can're repair your armor yet and not all the animations for things like using meds are there, but it's honestly really good for what it has so far.

Combats kinda boring and the enemies aren't particularly interesting, but the building is so incredibly fun I have to recommend it.

EDIT : Since they added Enigma, I literally haven't been able to play this game on either my steam deck or my PC. It just doesn't work. Fresh install, no mods.

Great work with the DRM, guys. Original review below.

Quit putting DRMs in this damn thing. I already got false flagged from Denuvo, you don't need another DRM yelling at me for buying your games and telling me I'm stupid for not pirating.

Addendum October 2024 : So I came back to this game and it's still pretty bad, even with the new updates, but not so bad that's it's terrible. If you ignore the online component of the game, it's at least serviceable, but just barely. and honestly, you could legitimately get a superior experience with modded skyrim. The gameplay for Lords of the Fallen has the exact strange slip and slide floatiness you'd feel using MCO/DXP in Skyrim, it's almost uncanny how it feels like the combat was modified by a bunch of fans of the series.

But this isn't a work made by a group of ragtag fans under a moddable engine, it's the actual product delivered by the developer with their dedicated resources. Enemy placement regardless of modifier is stupid, it has always been stupid, and no work has been done to address this. Environments, while beautiful and artistically inspired, are legit annoying or downright stupid to maneuver through because of the movement mechanics. Actual bosses are sometimes things you could just barely considered designed mechanically, as many engagements boil down to "I'm gonna put this normal enemy here but surround him with a bunch of dogs/archers".

TL;DR, this is an artistically inspired souls like with terrible gameplay.

Ignore everything I said in the crossed out section, the PvP isn't just laggier, it's just actually terrible in this game. While mechanically it can be fun, testing has started and the results are that invaders aren't at any disadvantage in this game beyond less Sanguinarix (Estus). Stat wise as an invader you get an EXTREMELY powerful resistance and attack power buff that results in you dealing minimum 3x the damage of your host, and maximum over 9x their damage, invasions are literally free, and explains why the PvP faction currency was the fastest one for me and others to fill up. I intentionally ran a gag build during the launch period of a +2 hammer at level 85 and it still 1 shot people. If you are below or near your hosts level, you will be scaled to an extremely high degree.

This review could be positive if invasions were opt in, but because they're not, and launch week is over, the build diversity in this game is 1 optimal youtuber sponsored build and 3 inferior funni builds. You're pretty much forced into fighting a PvP amalgamation of Giant Dad and Let me Solo Her with a repeating crossbow that shoots three 1000 bolts and can shoot lasers through the floor and walls.

Whether you're an invader or host, imagine if a majority of players was twinks. It's legitimately one of the most unfun and unintuitive online environments I have ever seen.

It's like Dark Souls 2 but the PvP is laggier

ACTUAL REVIEW EDIT : This would probably be a positive review if invasions were opt in, and if I had a taunters tongue to entice invaders to invade me as a solo player. Hopefully in the future that can happen or a mod gets released but till then I really can't recommend the game. The PvE is clunky and, while manageable, your character kind of ice skates around.

If you've ever played one of those ginormously modded skyrim modpacks, the PvE is like that, with Dark Souls 2 level design.

This would arguably be OK if the PvP were a decent experience, or even worked, but the PvP lacks a duel system or arena, so you're stuck with invasions, which is rife with rubberbanding, and my advantage as an invader is crazy good because of the absurdly high mob density this game has in most areas.

I have 40 hours in DS2 on PC, but well over 700 on my PS3 and PS4 pre-SoTFS, and while it's my favorite souls game, Lords of the Fallen somehow only manages to muster up the PvE aspect of it, which is the part that was generally disliked.
