It's really good, I spent around 200 hours on the switch version and intend to spend even more time on this version!

This game is probably one of if not my favorite monster hunter game solely due to the blending of old and new, it takes a lot of the design philosophy from the older monster hunter titles and adds in a handful of features and whatnot that was introduced with World bringing the world Gen 5. The game has far more monsters than Vanilla World had alongside the variety of both old gen monsters and monsters new for this game complementing the setting. Unlike World I actually felt like my actions were assisting the village I inhabited and felt like the story wasn't blowing its load forcing me to give a care about the narrative. Its simple and I respect that. Not only that but the portable team doubled down on overhauling the weapons even more than they were in World by giving them switch skills meaning you can make a weapon and your playstyle with it very unique. Excellent game with infinite replay value and I cannot wait for G-Rank to be added.

TL;DR: amazing game, blend of old and new. Doubled down on "quality of life" changes presented in World making it one of the most newcomer friendly Gen5 game though I will still stand by the belief that Freedom Unite and Tri are the BEST games overall to introduce new players to the series.
