Great Doom-like
The game knows what it is about and has nailed those aspects well. Solid fighting mechanics stitched with straightforward, entertaining story, functional but not obtrusive exploration and good cinematics.
The game's strength is the arena fighting. Thats what it is about. If you will take time to learn the enemy attack patterns and respond according to them it's a very pleasant experience. In between arenas, the game provides quite linear exploration paths with nice set dressing and scenery. Vaulting and climbing is scripted to make it easy to reach for the meat and potatoes of the game - next arena fight.
No technical issues whatsoever. Some aesthetic glitches like holes in terrain but you have to be mindful of them to spot them.
Very worth it the discount price.
Have not tried the coop.
Will update the review upon games completion.
EDIT: Game finished. One thing I can add is that after every fight I thought "damn, that was rad!"

It's beyond belief
I am playing this at 4am and I might as well be dreaming
its a 2023 title but if it were a blind test id say its straight from ps3 era
take games parts separately and they are bad, but together they just... work
slash and shoot mechanic feels smooth, aged, but smooth
Ill update the review later, but so far it grabbed my attention
if you want a nostalgic trip to ps3 era fever dream then this is it
dont expect anything and follow where this game leads and you will have a blast

Opinion after intro level:
So far so good!

Visually stunning, runs well, when level is loaded, that is. While its loading expect 20fps for some time.

Improvements from last game:
There is auto pickup! No need to crouch near every plant!
Yellow paint is reduced. Still there if you look for it, but is not obtrusive when lollygagging around.

Issues:
fps drops when level is loading are really noticeable: up to 10s of chugging along sometimes, and thats on NVMe!
some weird hair physics in cutscenes
other than that nothing groundbreaking yet.

In general:
Good port, safe to buy imo

Pros:
1. Amazing environmental art
2. Amazing character art
- Really good facial animations. Not Call of Duty cutscene level, but close
- Really fluid character movement while traversing the world
3. Great world building
- Cognitive cohesion between characters aim and players actions
- Motivating to explore the world
- Likable characters that you feel invested in
- Gripping storyline
- Collecting story bits in audio or text format feels natural and entertaining
4. Great, fitting soundtrack, but not really memorable like TLOU or Mirror's Edge
5. Great fighting mechanics against robots.
- Involves using variety of tools and ammo types, it feels satisfying to see a robot and instinctively use ammo that hurts it the most.
- Game paces enemy strength quite well. Even maxed out player will find a challenge in the end game, however it depends on the skill and/or amount of cheese used.
6. DLC is more of the same goodness, but harder. Builds upon existing narrative. Was definitely planned together with the main game. There is a character voiced by female V voice actor. ;D

Cons:
1. Torturing vacuuming simulator. Welcome to the "Connect the dots" game. Unless you are playing on easy difficulty, you will be walking from red plant to red plant while traversing the world, as its the most cost effective way of getting healing items.
2. Fighting against human enemies is underwhelming. Feels like they were the last thing developed compared to marvelous fighting you get with robots. It is great that it's not the focus of the game.
3. Minor visual glitches. Mostly a black skybox during sunrise.

Other Notes:
Well optimized game. Runs well, didn't crash, has solid autosave. I recommend maxing out the graphics as it's a marvel at every corner, and AI upscaling is worth using.
Worth its asking money, but is often on discount as well. A must play IMO.
Time needed to 100% the game: ~100 hours.
Time to complete only main quests on NG+: ~5 hours.

Summary: HaHa yes, boom headshot on a guy across the map with my double barrel, break action, slug shotgun, he mad in the chat now, lmao kekw

Other than that, as a first time CoD player, coming from CSGO, it is comically fun and easy game. Beautiful too.
Campaign is modern looking, great cinematics and animations. Some missions were pain in the arse, but thats what you get for making assorti mix to please old timers and new players.
Multiplayer is fun. The good feedback sounds and effects make it satisfying to pop heads 12 hours in one go. Also grinding for skins make it more compelling for satifying OCD.
As a fresh player I had no idea what the game from these series was "supposed" to have, but I am happy with what I have got. Apart from some rough corners like crashing for a few first days, its a banger to relax with after work with the boys.

One of my all time favorites. Also runs 10/10 on Steam Deck. Out of the box.

The origin of "How to spend all of your free time in internet caffee" era.

A game for low tier PCs. It is very fun and cool to play inspite of all the server crashes and random game shutdowns. Looking forward for a full version.
