Review from a person who has played 3000+ hours, made mods, challenges and dozens of guides for Planetbase

After spending over 3000 hours in this game and having bought this game on several playgrounds for myself and my friends, I will share with you all the experience and knowledge I have gained.

Love the concept of the game. Some players will be delayed for tens or hundreds of hours, but this game is not for everyone.
There is a list of features and disadvantages due to which I cannot recommend the games of this developer. Both because of the quality of the game and because of the moral character of the game developer.
Below I will describe in more detail the advantages and disadvantages.

[+] Advantages:

Favorite space theme by many players: The development of your settlement of colonists on a distant planet, where you have to get resources, grow food just like in the movie "Martian" and survive natural disasters.
Everything is very similar to real space. You will really feel like the conquerors of distant planets.
It really is survival in difficult conditions.
Here you will have to think a lot and build development strategies.
You will definitely die a huge number of times before you figure out how to survive.
For me this is a virtue for the game. But for many who do not like complex games and think a lot, this will be a disadvantage for the game.
With additional custom mods, the game becomes much more interesting.

[-] Disadvantages:

After playing this game for ten hours, you will feel that this is more a prototype than a real game.
You will surely have a lot of wishes for improving this game.
I will list only a small part:

1.1) Terrible AI in the game. You will spend a lot of nerves and time, because the AI will be extremely illogical to perform your tasks.
You will have to go back to save files repeatedly.

1.2) Not much content. Very soon, you will want to see a lot of additional continuation of the plot and development of your colony.

1.3) Many standard controls and functionality are missing, such as accessing controls from within the game or changing the volume of the game.

1.4) Odd UI decisions which do not seem optimized for a good experience.
Many interface bugs were fixed by the developer in his second game "Dawn of Man", which is based on the "Planetbase" engine. But the developer refused to transfer already made improvements from "Dawn of Man" to "Planetbase".

1.5) It will be quite tedious to repeat a lot over again and you will suffer from lack of information, lack of a normal pause button and unexplained AI actions.
These are not the difficulties you want to see in a survival game.

The developer refused to support mods and in every possible way prevents the introduction of mods into the game.
Nevertheless, the community of fans of the game itself has developed many interesting mods that improve and complement the game.

The inadequacy of the behavior of the authors of the game.
4.1) The authors of the game will forever ban in the Steam forum those players who suggest that the authors improve the game, make official support for mods, release DLC or Planetbase-2.
If you just write one or two times, then your message will most likely simply not be noticed.
But if you write and add one of the authors of the game to the discussion thread, or if you write an email to support, then there is a high probability that you will be noticed and banned for this.

4.2) The authors of the game do not keep their word to the players and the community.
For example, you may often hear stories like this from older players: "I beta tested DawnOfMan, but the devs promised to give a game to us and never did, with no explanation or anything so I don't buy their games anymore."
And if such a beta tester wrote about it in support or in the community, then all such messages were deleted by the authors of the game, and everyone who wrote was simply banned forever.

Conclusions:

Despite the fact that I spent 3000+ hours on this game and bought it many times for myself and my friends, now I cannot recommend it to you for purchase.
The author of the game does not know how to work with the community of players and use the power and support of the fans of the game.
Moreover, the author of the game is behaving dishonestly, deceiving players and testes.
I advise you to stay away from this developer.
