Tried to reach Ashlands with a friend, got wiped before making landfall by hostile air and sea units.

Issued a Call To Arms to EVERY friend I knew that had the game, staged the Viking equivalent of D-Day:

- Loaded a Drakkar boat full of people, combat veterans and casuals alike;
- Sailed straight to Ashlands, ignored the sea hostiles;
- Taking hits from sea monsters and vultures, Moder helps push full speed ahead;
- Grounded the ship full force against the land;
- Everyone jumps out, storm the beaches of Ashland;
- People die left and right, but we establish a security perimeter;
- Built a portal, reinforcements now arrive soon after they die;
- Created an Ashlands base, now we have an andvanced outpost.

11/10, would make Viking D-Day again.

So far, this is a paid game which will allow you to do the tutorial, which appears to be offline. I haven't been able to actually play it since purchase, due to "Servers at capacity".

As such, for now I am reviewing it as I can: as an offline tutorial mission which is NOT worth the cost. I may revisit this review when I can actually play it.

Those connectivity issues were solved ans I've been having a BLAST with the game. And when I mean a blast, there are several meanings, and all of them are true:

- Having tons of fun
- Taking the backblast from my friend's recoilless rifle to the face
- Being blasted to smithereens by a bomber's 500kg bomb (either my friend's or mine, really)
- Blasting enemies left and right with orbital barrages
- and so on.

If you enjoyed Starship Troopers, it's all there: the satire to the ultrafacism, the cannonfoldering of citizens willing to (needless) die for "something greater", the satisfaction of accomplishing a mission flawlessly or the tragic comedy of failing it in countless spectacular ways.

With friends, I'd say it is a must-have, akin to games like Left 4 Dead.

Freedom and the best of Divinity and D&D in a single package.

I had never heard about Remnant in any of the gaming media, the only reason I got it was because someone told me it had a decent coop.

Boy, I was in for a treat. Imagine a Souls game with procedurally generated maps. Now add GUNS to it and you're starting to get a feeling what this game is all about.

The coop can be played in a campaign, but only the host will advance in his game. However, this is not a problem, because, the way they did it, you can play a campaign with a friend while keeping yours, bringing all the levels, weapons and mods you get from their game. And even as a guest in the game, the story is still told as if you were the host.

It is not an easy game, but it's not frustratingly hard either. It will challenge even veteran players as you struggle to some mechanics: after that it "clicks" and you feel like a genius, beating bosses with somewhat ease (the twins on the bridge will still serve your rear end on platter, tho).

I highly recommend this game if you're up for some challenging fun, specially with friends.

I mean, we are literally using this game as a communication training tool in the company I work for. I'm not even joking.

It is a good game. It is a terrible MMO. Play with friends and you'll be OK for a while, but it can stagnate very fast once you finish the story and reach level cap.

Remember back in 1999 when The Matrix hit the big screens and the world imploded in theorycrafting about a gazillion things ranging from something as simple as the existence of a freaking spoon to the allegory of the cave of a 300BC philosopher?

Man, those were the simpler days.

Let's start by getting this out of the way: it's bugged as hell, yes. You can get stuck, see objects suspended in the air and broken animations. So far, I haven't encountered any game-braking glitches, however.

That said...

It's awesome when your stealth infiltration goes flawlessly. It's awesome when your cyberpsycho with mantis blades slice and dice everything before they can even sound an alarm. It's awesome when you go in guns blazing and blow ♥♥♥♥ up.

And it's still awesome when your carefully crafted plan goes to ♥♥♥♥.

Wolcen is good now. It still has some issues, but the gamebreaking ones seem to have been dealt with. The story has always been interesting, but the way they tied it to the endgame is actually remarkable.
