+ gameplay
+ neat live service concept with the galactic war
+ as of now fair monetization (though they just got a new CEO who previously worked for DLC mass manufacturer Paradox)

- Sony
- blocked in 180 countries (those without PSN access), also Japan got an objectively cut down version (only japanese language because F you that's why)
- PSN-account requirement still not removed from the store page, so they could just force it again later
- invasive Kernel-level anti-cheat that may need to be uninstalled separately (your mileage may vary)

For some "Next Gen" means raytracing and stuff, for others it just means not optimizing for current hardware while gaslighting their players into thinking they just need to upgrade their just bought hardware (from like the last 4 years).
This is the only game apart from Cyberpunk I can't play in 4K with the (mostly) highest settings and only one of them looks good enough to excuse that. But I guess making an optimized game is simply not an option nowadays.

After 60 hours and almost fully completing the game (everything except S-ranking every mission), I can make the informed statement that AC VI is in itself a really great game. Now I can't compare it with previous entries in the Armored Core franchise nor with other FromSoft titles as I haven't played those for more than a couple hours or even at all.

Regarding performance, other technicalities and the rest:
For the most part the game runs great and looks very good, the art direction is consistent and helps the game portray its atmosphere tremendously.
Sadly more than once the framerate dips hard, especially when displaying certain amounts of effects.
Bugs and glitches were completely absent during my playtime but your mileage may vary.
The story was for the most part consistent, only in the beginning I found it a bit too vague.
While the music was mostly ambient, at the end of the game it got a step up and contributed more heavily to the tone of the missions and fights.

All in all AC VI is a definitive recommendation for those who like mecha, the customization of those and actually using them. I only feel the need to subtract points from the score for the technical reasons listed above.

Score: 95/100

To be honest, I'm still disappointed in the graphical downgrade from World to Rise, but the gameplay is nonetheless fun.
Story-wise I couldn't get into it like World, maybe it gets better later on, though I have played enough to determine that while it is a good game, it's not to my taste.
Would still recommend fans of the genre to get it while on sale maybe.

It's ok I think, haven't played that much yet.

No, but really: It's one of the best free-to-play third-person-looter-shooters out there.

Note: I review both Sunrider: First Arrival and Sunrider: Mask of Arcadius as one game.

Sunrider: Mask of Arcadius. I started playing it just for fun and because the user reviews were relatively high (>90% were positive by the time I started playing). Also, it's free so I didnt have anything to lose except some free time. Well, you could say that my expectations were more than fullfilled but that would be understating. The story, while starting a bit slow in my opinion but later on more than compensated for that and much deeper and intense than I would have ever imagined, is – as you might have already foreseen – in my opinion one of the better ones of the games I played and the VN's I read so far.
Now, a review shouldn't just praise the story but also tell you something about the characters that appear in the game. On the first look they were all stereotypical animegirls (you know: the overactive one, the shy one, the perv and so on) and, sadly, some didn't really have a big character development. The other ones had some development, some more, some less. (I won't write here which ones because of reasons).
Some of the negative points are that you have for an example only girls as Ryder pilots or that you never see the rest of the crew. Well, to be honest I didn't really have a problem with that but other people may think different about this.
Also, it seems that some people had some performance issues running this game. I am no exception, but it was never unplayable. When it lagged I just restarted the game and my problems were gone (did not happen very often).

tl;dr: If you like anime and turn-based tactical combat, then try it. It's free. Also, it has space whales. (No, not really, but it would be great, wouldn't it?)

In short:

Cons:
- only girls as Ryder pilots
- the characters appear to be stereotypical and for some, that doesn't change throughout the game
- some minor performance issues here and there

Pros:
+ deep and later on intense story
+ well outworked universe
+ fancy illustrations
+ nice ship designs
+ it's free
+ space whales

Conclusion: I fully recommend this game to people who like anime (or Visual Novels) and turn-based strategic combat.
P.S: Don't get too fat or else space whales will try to mate with you. Speed > Armor.
