I'm not a fan of JRPGS, Turn-based combat, or resource management. That being said this game takes those concepts and crafts an absolute masterpiece of a survival horror. The difficulty is definitely there with RNG in the mix, however the game is such an open-ended sandbox that you can complete the game in tons of different ways, and although sometimes restarting is necessary, the game is so replayable it isn't a big deal. I have almost 30 hours in the game overall and the first and only time I beat the game took me 17 hours-ish.

dont just dont. the game is playable im sure youll get some fun from it but, nobody is going to be playing it in a year, the game wont be playable in 3 years, and activision is going to keep churning out garbage annually. they're taking down the only safe/playable ways to play their older, better titles (RIP SM2, RIP XLABS) to make their new games look less scummy.

Highly recommended. It's sort of a cross of Clash of Clans, Mario Maker and Doom and though it doesn't do any of them the best the execution is still incredibly fun.

To refute negative reviews about raiding, if you get to an unfun/unfair build, just abandon the raid and do a different one. You can generally tell if a base will not be fun by seeing if there's a lot of enemies in the preview image. Simple as that, there is no penalty and the creator of the build won't be rewarded in any way. This way I've only run into one base in my first 5 hours that was completely unfair, and I left before it caused me any issues.

However, I can agree that the building needs some work. Unlike other games where you need to beat your own level, you instead just need to create a clear and concise path for this robot to walk along. The issue is the player is WAY more mobile than the robot, basically killing any interesting parkour/dropoffs/climbs or anything that isn't a perfect sloped/flat path to walk on. This problem can be circumvented partially by creating alternate paths with alternate rewards to bait players, but the main path will always be there that will lead you straight to the finish line, disgustingly restrictive considering how fun the movement is.

But despite that, the game as it is now is still incredibly fun, and you can still make very interesting builds. I have hope that they will rework the more restrictive features of the building later on, but it still can be very interesting in it's own way.
