Early Access Review
Enshrouded is the gold standard for what an Early Access should be. No game crashes experienced in 35 hours of gameplay, excellent mechanics, very few bugs experienced in my time playing.

EDIT: Following a reddit post fixed my issues with the horrendous FPS this game has at 4K. I went from a 24 FPS average to 120 FPS constant. I posted the fix here to save the click.

Use "Fullscreen Windowed" or disable VSync
Disable "Depth of Field Mode"
Reduce "Volumetrics Quality" to Low
Disable "Global Illumination"
Reduce the "Level of Detail" to Low (or Medium if you don't need the extra FPS)
Disable "Motion Blur" (This is a preference, if you want it, keep it on Low)
In the advanced tab, scroll to the Shadows section and disable "Terrain Casts Shadows"
If you want to squeeze a bit more performance, Disable "Fog Quality"

Current Hardware:
CPU: AMD 7800X Overclocked to 5.6ghz
RAM: 64GB DDR5 6200mhz 30CL timings
GPU: Gigabyte RTX 4090 Overclocked
Storage: PCIE 5.0 NVME SSD's

Performance:
Playing at 4K, the game is clearly running well below or at 30 FPS on average. Even with a city of 0. FPS does not change regardless of city size from my observations. LOD's are busted, ultra settings you will have trees/bushes appearing like textures out of Mario 64. Shadows are absolutely broken, had to disable them because they shimmered and moved like they had a mind of their own.

Gameplay: Issues when bringing roads together that causes the landscape to deform so badly that the water under the terrain becomes exposed. The spline editor does not know how to process the road changes and will prevent the player from doing what should be an easy intersection. Other than this the game feels okay.

Gold standard of gaming. This is how a remake should be.

Early Access Review
This game is a solid 6/10. As a fan of the original game I am disappointed to find many systems have taken two steps back while fewer have taken steps forward and iterated on the original. This seems like a huge case of "Bigger is better". The map is significantly larger than the original game, but has so much less to do than the original. If I could refund this, I would. But I would suggest anyone considering buying this to wait at least 4 months.

Pros:
-The game is very pretty.
-Has no crashes.
-Kelvin is a god of gathering materials.
-Animation work is fantastic.
-The landscape design is very well done and reminds me of walking through the woods IRL more than any other game I have played.
-The rope gun was a cool addition to the game.

Cons
-Sandbox survival game with less survival aspects then its predecessor. Water/food are wildly abundant. No consequence for eating raw food.
-Massive Frame drops in caves when other players are loading in. (Running RTX 4090/7700X.)
-Getting firearms and ammo is insanely easy. Getting the gun in the original was hard and took exploring every corner of the map.
-No reason to actually build a base.
-Building something as simple as a campfire is damn near impossible. Bring back selecting recipes from the book.
-AI is some of the dumbest I have seen in a game. I throw a molotov down, and every enemy willingly walks into the fire and dies. AI will let you pillage an entire camp of its resources and not attack you.
-Crafting anything requires watching an animation. If you want to craft 6 molotovs at once you must watch this animation every craft.
-Walked for over an hour and had no actual threats or found any POI's as every meaningful cave is locked behind finding a keycard.
-Squirrels endlessly spawn on the roof of our base to the point that there are about 30 squirrels in a single spot at one point.

Fantastic remake. Amazing graphics and the connecting off all of the Ishamura's sectors in a traversable way is a great addition.
