Played a few hours, and there's clearly a ton of potential here, but the game suffers from severe over-utilisation of the CPU on loading screens for mine and many, many people's configurations. These can stall and soft-lock your entire PC.

There's a thread on the official forums about this with over 500 replies about this issue, and another of similar size on the steam forums. The devs have seemingly known about this since the early alpha days and haven't commented or acknowledged.

Due to that, at this time, I cannot recommend the game as it is largely unplayable for me.

Update: The latest patch of the game resolved the issues, and the game is now fully playable and is frankly great. It is now an easy recommend.

One of those rare delights that starts off amazing and gets better with time. Capes, humour, anti-fascism, explosions, and an incredible soundtrack. What's not to love.

Excellent derpy multiplayer fun. Build a table, chuck the table into space, build a table with your friends, chuck your friends into space. What's not to love?

Elite is the most immersive experience of any game I've ever played. Period.

What else do you want?

The foundation update addresses every concern I had with the game at launch. The game world feels alive, there's a legitimate end game and Survival is brutal but compelling.

Would I reccomend the game now? Yes, I think so.

Skill cap through the roof, and incredibly accessible, what more could you want?

Cutesy and brutal. A beautifully simple couch coop game that never gets old.

An MMO that doesn't shy away from dynamic events and emergent cooperative gameplay.

I can still remember the first time a huge rift opened up right next to where I was questing, it was amazing. A level of epic that you can't even find in Guild Wars 2. Rift also boasts a heavily customisable and fluid class system that lets you tailor your character more than you could hope.

One of the best MMO's out there these days.

Fun for a while, but personally I feel a sandbox game needs more unpredictable emergant behaviours, after a while Reus seems to stagnate.

Not so much a game, but an experience. If you're wondering why many of us argue games are as valid a form of art as any other, then this is one of the game's you'll want to try. A wandering simulator.
