If you pick it on a sale and you like space games, it could be worth your while. A sequel (or something with similar mechanics) could be fantastic if this game is used as a foundation.

STORY: It’s not that good —clearly the weakest link in the game— but it’s still a good addition. You’re basically Anakin with guilt, seeking redemption. It’s good in the long run but has some plot holes and issues with scope. The characters all talk as if there’s a galaxy full of people and power outside the game, but the game barely shows one solar system divided into six maps, plus extras. It doesn’t feel like a galaxy. Some cutscenes also get in the way of gameplay, or slows the game.

GAMEPLAY: pretty good once you get past the first ship. Very arcade-like (no 6dof), it’s reminiscent of Gundam space battles without the mechs, leaning toward a power fantasy than a space sim. You’re, again, basically Anakin as a pilot, complete with powers and similar pilot shenanigans. Combat is fun and fast, but way too easy (played w/ kb/m). I played on Normal via gamepass a while ago, and it was very easy. I only felt challenged on the hardest difficulty and got, at most, 18 hours of gameplay with a lots of deaths. On Normal, it was half the time. All six maps are very busy, mostly open maps with lots to do, which feels weird considering the setting is in space.

ART: very cool looking ships, and lots of details everywhere. Maps like I said are open, most of them are cluttered with boring asteroids (either regular, red ones or ice). Only one different map featuring a city, incidently the most boring one. Doesn't feel like there is too much variation, and there is no real sense of space-voids. Instead, everything feels crowded. If you tell me there was a moon on EVERY map that got destroyed right before the game started, I'd believe it.

SOUND: sound design is fine, nothing to be picky about, but the music is excellent, and it flows very well with gameplay. In fact, I discovered this game thanks to a few tracks I stumbled upon on YT.

PERFORMANCE: 3070 with everything on high/epic and RT low, pretty much could handle the game without too many issues. I still got low 30fps at certain parts, but never hindered combat or gave me a bad time for too long (I bet without RT, I would have no fps drops), still no need for DLSS. Steam deck runs it perfectly with Proton 7.0-6 (a few freezes on newer versions).
