almost acceptable, but no, it's cringe.

The game is lacking in features, the "ranking" system is a joke, and the game is incredibly stingy. normal and rare cards are basically freely available, but at the same time these cards are entirely worthless in most decks that are even slightly viable. Acquiring super rare cards isn't too bad, although that might only be in comparison to the ultra rare ones. There are several cards that are used in every single deck, and of course they are all ultra rare. The game itself is a pretty terrible time since most of the time it boils down to one side essentially playing solitaire for 10 minutes while the other either waits for their turn or surrenders. In a baffling decision, surrendering a game makes you receive no rewards for the match (I think it still gives you a tiny amount exp. The levels are basically meaningless though).

You are initially flooded with the gems used to buy packs, but this only seems like a generous amount at first. Realistically it is the bare minimum, if even that. After the initial amount of gems the game gets extremely stringy with gems. Even the login bonus decreases each day where in all other games I can think of it would increase, or at least not decrease. The drip feed of gems makes it impossible to try out different decks outside of those that are in the solo mode. The game has a huge variety of cards but that variety is entirely wasted by how incredibly stingy the game is.

A long awaited new entry into the half life universe that took on the challenge of creating a AAA quality VR fps game. Valve has truly raised the bar and set the gold standard for VR games going forward.

Probably what the original game should had been, but still definitely a large step up. I'm not particularly good at RTS games, but its a good time casually playing with some friends.

Pretty fantastic game, but it's age shows at times. Being around for so long has its advantages and disadvantages. Plenty of content and stuff to do, but some of the mechanics and technically limitations make it feel like the game is being held back a bit.
