Its gaming mechanism is like a combination of Total War and Company of Heroes with additional RPG elements like Warhammer 40K campaign. If you love those former three series I've mentioned, you should give it a try and get the idea of how this decendent could actually become as the successful ancestors' legacy.
However if the game has a better world perspective, stories and character design, it would standout easier than right now.

Super fun.

I've finished the story campaigns of DOW2 and DOW2: Chaoes Rising, the story is facinating and the characters make you feel alive by comparing to other RTS games. Just don't expect much about the multiplayer mode from this one. The DOW2: Retribution is bettern on multiplayer. On the contrary, that's not for campaign player.

Definitely recommend, it contains full-fledged features of Classic ARPG with creative innovation.

You will love it.

Pick it up. You won't regret.
