Okay, this is a super sad review to write, because I was really enjoying this game.

The graphics are great, especially for a remaster! The sound is decent as well, though the soundtrack is mixed incredibly and is all-around fantastic!
Then why the negative review? Alright, well, it's because of the ending and the lackluster modding capabilities.

Without spoiling anything, the story ending is by far the most disappointing and lackluster I've ever played.
It seriously just drops everything, and there's nothing to do afterward. As someone who never played The Lost Chapters, this is heartbreaking. The journey up was pretty fun, but there was such a drop in content around the last quarter of the game. It became just story, with very few side quests. There aren't enough upgrades or unique loot drops to add any more replayability to the game. And the whole legacy of Whisper and Thunder just ends, regardless of the choices you make! What the hell, Lionhead?

The DLC in this game is $25 for skins and a few new weapons. There's nothing else.

The modding in this game is completely unpassable -- it requires 9 gigabytes of files just to run a mod! And there are only a small handful of them on the Workshop. Also, the way they made the modding tool only allows you to change very specific details, such as lighting in-game and skins. That's literally it -- and the tool is so user unfriendly that few people have even gotten around to making anything. This game has been out for a year, and there's only six or seven mods out for it. That's pathetic. And there's no one but the developers to blame on this.

Overall, if you get this game on sale for 75% off or more, then I'd go ahead and pick it up. I spent $12 when it was on sale, however, and felt cheated. I did get some good hours out of it, but the ending blew so hard that it made me feel like I hadn't really accomplished anything.

Not a bad game, but holy crap could they have done better!

One of the most frustrating TRUE roguelikes of all time. This is essentially a skin for the old Nethack, but with heavy graphical updates. Highly recommend for people who love hardcore RPGs.

Clunky controls, but really enjoyable gameplay and platforming. Combat is pretty decent and the soundtrack is great. Also, the puzzles are actually pretty clever.

NOPE.
Sorry, terrible optimization and GFWL don't help this game at all. Expect jumping framerates anywhere from 20-30ish while driving in heavily-populated areas. Super unstable and doesn't even get a consistent 60 fps average on a Titan. Stay away until someone puts out a decent fan-made patch for it.

...which hasn't happened since 2010 so good luck
