Don't take this review as a bandwagon hate, but rather the reason behind it.

As I'm sure everyone here as pointed out the state of the game, it is VERY unoptimized. The textures of the game looks bad compared to World. Note that I'm running in a decently high rig PC with 4070Ti, and the frames often tank when transitioning to other regions. The story itself is quite interesting and how we players get to say something (finally not a silent protagonist) is also a fresh experience. But the game performance seriously felt rushed, as if the game development pipeline was running low on funds hence the results.
How is it that, MHWorlds, a 2018 game is able to run smoothly with great textures and vibrant colours, but this game with its latest engine, suffers through it while everything looks like one colour tone?

And the HUD, the damn HUD! Please bring back the weapon forge hud from MHWorld, where you inspect the skill info by just tapping a button, not going into sub-menu and into ANOTHER sub-menu. This isn't a fking switch game, whoever thought of adding stacks of sub-menus on top of each other should really be fired for this horrible design.

And what happened to the bug reports done by OBT players? While reassuring the players that the OBT was an old build and that the polygon, models spazzing out from the ground were fixed, but yet they appear in the game release?
A game that has a potential to be the most anticipated game of 2025, performs so poorly even on high-end rigs is an embarassment. A breach of trust to both consumers and investors.

I really enjoy the story and the rendered cutscenes looks amazing, but the performance of the game itself has seriously taken the immersion away from it. How can one enjoy the game if the game doesn't want to work at all?
I sincerely hope that there will be a patch addressing ALL of the issues stated by every players here, there's still a chance to fix it, it's really up to them whether they want to or just let this game die on release due to its performance issue.

TLDR; do better. Stop delivering half-assed products like other AAA companies, ensure the quality of the game before even thinking about releasing it.

To potential players interested in buying the game, hold off from purchasing it. It is rough at its current state, even for high end PCs. So if you have a GPU that's not a 30series and above, I wouldn't recommend buying it until CAPCOM decided to polish the game.

Probably the best medieval game I've ever played, it's not your average hack and slash type of game. You're not a hero, just an ordinary peasant who got his life turned upside down. This game provides a lot of history, which I'm a big fan of.
The best thing about the game is that it's very hardcore, one wrong move and your opponents will kill you. Combat system is very difficult to master, but it's part of the fun.

Since KCD2 is out, it makes this game even more worth to purchase and try it out. Since it takes place immediately after the first game.
10/10, have played this 5 times and can still find something new in the map.

After spending 3 hours wandering through the zone.
There are some slight issues that I've found, not game breaking, but more so on the annoying side.

Note that I'm running with a 4070Ti with Ultra graphics.

Performance issues:
1. There are some slight frame drops when going through foliages even with DLSS 3 enabled.
2. When exiting your PDA or inventory, there will be a delay interaction, not sure if it was intended, but it throws off the groove ever so slightly.
3. NPCs animations are a bit jank, while interacting with them they'll twitch around and not standing/sitting proper while talked to.

That's all the issues I've found out so far. Other than that, everything runs smoothly.

Is it worth buying it now?
If you want to support the devs, yes.
If you want a game with no issues, maybe wait for a few months for additional patches.
If you expect something like a CoD zombie shooter, no this is not for you. But feel free to try it out.

This game still feeds my gacha addiction

Despite the PSN drama, the port is good and I've encountered no performance issues.
4 hours in and I'm enjoying it still.

Couldn't find my body after going back to the location where I died, losing all my tier 3 gear. A very annoying bug, a really great way to not play the game.

A really dark story with twisted humour, but enjoyable.

Major Order Completed. Democracy has prevailed.

1st game going in blind, friend immediately dies by falling off the rails. Leaves me alone with a pair of white eyes staring at me in a distance. Never felt so scared to leave my friend's body in decay while I sprint back to the ship and never look back again.
