Despite negative reviews, there really isn't much here to hate. Sure, the game had a bit of a rocky start with bugs and server hosting, but it's grown to be much more than that. It's a great game by design, an action murder mystery arcade game of cat and mouse; only difference is you're not only the cat, but also the mouse.

The only faults with this game can be summarized in three different categories: Minor bugs, population, and neglect. First point is bugs, there aren't very many in 2020 aside from a guard bug that freezes the player when too many actions are preformed. However, this bug isn't very common, out of 120 games, it may only happen 10 times, and only if the players are rowdy enough to cause it to happen. Among bot players, it is far more common, but I don't believe they count towards my point. Another bug would be the visual bug when assassinating someone from a vignette that contains any holdable entity like a pie or a tankard. Once a kill is executed from one of these vignettes, the entity in your hands has a chance to despawn since it is replaced with the murder weapon for a few seconds. Moving an inch will fix this however.

In terms of population, as of today, the player peak was 109 for Murderous Pursuits. Take this as you will, but the game isn't as popular as it once was. The all-time peak for this game was 144,294 back when it first came to be, and I don't believe it will ever rise back to it's formal glory. Despite this however, the game can still be thoroughly enjoyed with friends or with the in-game AI. In terms of AI, MP does an excellent job with their artificial intelligence. The AI acts as real players most of the time, and are very immersive. Sometimes, the AI will feign lag to simulate real people, and it puts a smile on my face. Although the population is low, the AI makes up for this loss, as well as friends to play this game with. The game used to be priced at $20, and is now much more accessible at $10. If you have cash to spare, it's worth the fun.

Now for my final point, neglect. Don't get me wrong, the game is wonderful, but there's a lot of dents that need to be ironed out. The game hasn't been updated in a very long time, and it's fairly evident by the fact that the DLC Mr. X Edition skins have not been added to the newer 8 characters, nor has the 'Mask' victory pose been updated for the 8 new characters. When you purchase the Deluxe Edition, you are only getting skins and poses for half of the characters, whether or not this is worth it is up to the buyer. I would also like to point out that when playing MP, the common player may find the overpoweredness of the Flash and the Counter. These are abilities that I'm sure would be nerfed or reworked if the game had a larger playerbase. A lot of the abilities could use a rework, an example being that Humiliation is less effective than Disguise in the fact that Humiliation gives less points, and is more risky. High risk low reward is not a good incentive to use an ability, especially if it's actually a detriment in most if not all gamemodes thanks to it's exposure destroying capabilities. This is not to say that these overpowered abilities can't be countered, if you're a seasoned player it's easy to spot when these abilities are in use most of the time, and Flash can be sidestepped if you act quick enough. But it's often not quick enough in most situations, depending on how the Flash is used. In theory, it's possible to avoid overpowered abilities, but a gameplay tweak would be much appreciated.

With these points aside, this game is still one of my top favourites in terms of replayability. A lot of people will tell you it's repetitive, but depending on what company you have over, it can be one of the greatest party games out there to enjoy with all of your friends. I give this game a 7/10, it's come a long way from 2018, and it's much better for it. However it is unfortunate to see a game like this go abandoned by it's community, and minorly neglected by it's developers due to this fact. Amazing game, tragic happenstance. 7/10.

This is an incredible game overall, definitely recommended. If you like medieval and fast-paced gameplay, with a hint of historical accuracy, then you'll really appreciate this game. Though it does have some flaws, such as a broken Horde mode, and a semi toxic community, the team is taking strides in improving the overall experience of the game. Being someone that practices HEMA, I'm a bit disappointed with the combat; though for what it is I can appreciate the simplicity and nods towards different techniques (the game being called Mordhau for instance, which means murder-stroke, a method of wielding a sword by the blade as seen in-game). A lot of the combat is very satisfying, especially when you manage to decapitate others or even make their skulls explode with the eveningstar. There is also a wide variety of customization in the game, a decent selection of items to choose from the further you get into the game. The fact that you can customize a character to your liking and use any combination of weapon and armour really sells it to me, as it's always a chuckle seeing someone carrying three frying pans into battle, or even a lute which can be used to bash people over the head with. Though some of the armours appear to be from different eras and would pair strangely with other armours, for instance 15th century Gothic armour with the "viking helm" is an odd choice. Though I do like customization, I feel that seeing combinations like rapier and heater shield in-game effects immersion, as well as seeing half naked soldiers charging at you. Though this is mainly what creates so many hilarious moments, so it's a balance of good and bad. The maps in this game, though pretty limited, hold a great deal of detail and love. The playing field is typically quite large, though a lot of the maps are unbalanced; not to mention there is no real designated spawn room on most of these maps (Only a few maps have safe spawn areas, and when they do it's typically only for one team like on Camp, red is the only team with a raised spawn on Camp). However, despite all of these cons, I do feel that I have to give a positive rating for the sheer fact that there is such a wide range of customization, a PVE mode, a battle royale, and most importantly, it's better than Chivalry and whatever Chivalry 2 is.

This game is incredible, as a singleplayer game.

The multiplayer can be toxic and pay to win most of the time, which is why I recommend switching off the matchmaking. This game is great on it's own, all the mechanics are there and it's a very well thought-out experience at it's core, which is what makes playing with bots just as serviceable. Not only is there no toxicity, but it can be a decent challenge when the bots mostly only target real players. Level 1 bots are far too easy, while level 2 bots will actively parry and use their kit to the fullest like a real player. Level 2 bots do put up a challenge when in groups, but are pretty consistent since their AI is programmed to do very specific move sets and combos. Level 3 bots are usually on par with the weekly challenges' bots, since they feign and seem to actually use the characters they're given to their fullest intent, but can be unstoppable if given the wrong heroes. They're a tad too challenging for the average player, especially in groups.

With this in mind, an AI's hero heavily influences the difficulty in of itself. If you're given a Shaman, Shinobi, Peacekeeper, or any of the other assassin heroes as teammates, they'll almost always lose an engagement if the enemy is anything but an assassin or weak hybrid. If you're fighting a strong hybrid or a vanguard/heavy team, it's easier to refresh the match if you get an unfavourable match-up, since your team of assassins will always lose a team fight with how they're programmed to not block hits from other AIs, nor do any of the AI execute their kills in the Breach mode. Aside from the AI's flaws however, it's still an enjoyable experience, as turning the matchmaking off practically opens the entire game up for more casual players like myself. It helps that you can invite friends to non-matchmaking games, help with the faction wars, gain experience and coin as well as earn special event rewards, it's the best experience in my opinion.

I give the game a 7/10, it was clearly a passion project when it was released, though the pay to win aspect of the current game is why I can't fully recommend the multiplayer. Singleplayer though, is a different story.

As someone that has spent about 130 hours in this game, I can say with confidence that No Man's Sky is one of the best exploration games I've played in a long time. However, I can't stress enough that this game isn't for everyone. Most people that prefer action over casual will definately hate this game, hense some of the more negative reviews. But if you're more into base building, exploration and a randomly generated worlds, this game is for you.

Keep in mind though, this game is not perfect. It has multiple flaws that could be addressed, however a lot of them aren't game-breaking. Some bugs include multiplayer not being serverside, causing items to despawn and certain foliage, structures and frigates not being visible for some players. There are a few lesser issues, such as larger foliagespawning inside your base if it is lifted above the ground, although this issue isn't too much of a problem.

The game itself could be better optimized, I've heard a few reports of it being hard on the CPU, but I personally have had no issues; and my system is able to run Assassin's Creed: Origins on high graphical settings. The game can also run on my five year old lenovo laptop, however I had to drop the settings to medium respectively.

In terms of time No Man's Sky has peeked my interest, but please keep in mind that the game can get repetitive at around three weeks of gameplay. Upon first startup, it'll likely be tempting to sit and play for hours. I recommend taking a lot of breaks in between playing this game, because time can really fly. I know I ended up playing this game nonstop on the first week I had it, which burned me out pretty quick.

I'd like to also bring up an important point, No Man's Sky may have an abundance of flaws, it also has it's upsides. Truth be told, the developers have really stepped up their game over the past year. Ever since No Man's Sky: Next, there has been an update every day up until a few days ago. It is clear the devs show dedication, and that they still do care about this game. For them to dig it out of the grave and revive it has really repaired their reputation for me.

I was honestly suprised at how vast the world was, and just how many things there were to do. Not only are there many different ways to customize your base, but there's also tons of unique worlds and ships to choose from. Every solar system has a unique set of ships and alien species, which helps keep things fresh in the game. There are a set of upgrades and enhancements for your character that improve the overall experience, and gives you a sense of progression. The missions are always worth doing, and when you don't have any missions there's always something to do, such as scanning lifeforms, checking abandoned buildings and killing pirates.

One final note: this game may be great, but in truth at it's current state I don't think it's worth $60. I would wait for it to be on sale if you want to buy it, or at least wait for another big update. I give this game an 8/10 as of this time.

Quick update: This game is looking promising after the updates, I'd keep my eye on this game in the future...

This DLC is definately worth the buy, it's a good change. It does have it's drawbacks though.

Concerning custom games, I was really disappointed with the lack of content. There almost seems to be less maps than there was for vanilla, Coastal literally has one map, and so does Siege. DO NOT buy if you were planning on getting it for the Custom Games.

However, there is a lot to offer from this DLC, including an entirely new environment, (slightly) improved graphics and SEA BATTLES. I am loving the champaign and different options for extra gore and an "Insane" difficulty adjustment. There are more lore-based options for your character to take, including height and religion (which I'm not a big fan of personally).

Other mechanics added that might seem odd is the fact that you must gain a villiage leader's permission and trust to recruit soldiers to your army. Although this feature can be disabled, it is quite difficult to actualy start playing the game with it enabled. I would recommend setting the "Recruiting" option to Beginner before you start a new game, unless you like trying to complete quests without an army.

Visually speaking, I was also disappointed by the hair physics. It's unnatural how every part of the hair moves in the wind; as if it isn't attached to the head. Faces were kinda creepy, but it's a nice change. You can really tell that efforts were made to improve village life by adding extra NPC's walking around, I appreciate that quite a lot. The landscape overall is nice, however for a 2014 DLC I expected a bit more with a few details; for example the world map trees are 2d cards instead of actual models. The towns in the world map have been remodeled to look like actual towns and cities instead of two buildings like how they had it in vanilla. Visually appealing.

Overall, it's a fantastic DLC worth picking up. The price is a bit iffy, but for the amount of content added it's understandable.

Early Access Review
It's a great game, but my only critique would be this:

- Units need more animations. Corpse piles are made unrealistic if one side is swords and the other are boots. Add variety to the attacking animations as well, it's odd watching them all swing the same each time.
- Add a bloodied armour effect to the units that have died or killed another unit. Heavy Knights especially would have bloody armour, it breaks the immersion seeing a group of heavy knights that just left the battlefield with perfectly polished armour.
- Some of the units are suicidal in areas, like in the Crusader Town map, they seem to love jumping off the southern cliff closest to the town. Another issue is that sometimes the units get stuck in certain areas. To use the same example, some of the units get stuck and can't move near the south cliff as well, as if their legs stopped working.
- Grammatical issues with certain words and phrases. An example being "footmans" instead of "footmen".

I hope you take my comments into mind, loving the game so far. Keep it up!

If only the actual game was like the trailer on the front page. But jokes aside, this game can change your life if you're commited enough to play it.

Whenever I go to a town in search for quests they always tell me that their cattle have gone missing. Twelve towns in a row they can't even bother to watch their cattle long enough to keep them from leaving town.

Being an adventurer is so fun.

This game is absolutely incredible, and I love it so much. The races are... limited, but hey, the maps are pretty-..uh, limited as well. Well the campaign is.. well actually, the campaign is pretty cool. But once you finish the campaign, there isn't much left to this game. Well there IS that map pack and the sol race addon, but it's NOT ON STEAM TO BUY. What a shame, this game could have used a few more maps and races. At least a human race, or some sort of bug race. What about those modern airplanes in the trailer? Wasn't this supposed to be Fantasy meets Modern Tech? This game is disappointing, but fun because of cheats. Without cheats is pretty fun, but nothing beats using cheats on the first level of the campaign. Hordes of undead, a path that leads to the city and out? That's some attack/defense stuff if you cheat towers in and extra men to fight back the undead. Aaaand that's where this game's fun ends. At least update it through steam every now and then!
