After dedicating countless hours to creating mods for Skyrim and Fallout 4, amassing over 5 million downloads, it pains me to announce to my modding community: I won't be modding for Starfield. I'm at a loss to comprehend Bethesda's direction. In an era graced by masterpieces like Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption II, Elden Ring, and Baldur's Gate, Bethesda has somehow managed to release a game that feels archaic, lackluster, and painfully underwhelming. The game's script is lackadaisical, the gameplay lethargic, and the overall experience is profoundly uninspiring. It's a far cry from the innovative standards set in 2023/24.

This weekend, as I pen this review, the player counts speak volumes:

Starfield: 20,027 players
Fallout 4: 20,089 players
Skyrim SE: 23,723 players

These figures paint a grim picture for Bethesda. It took them eight years to produce a game that not only fails to surpass but barely matches the engagement of their older titles. A "Fallout 4 - Space Edition" or a substantial DLC would have likely been a more successful venture.

I played Starfield for a mere 8 hours, enough to confirm the myriad issues highlighted in other reviews. I refuse to waste more time on a game that has left me, a long-time Bethesda admirer, deeply disappointed, frustrated, and saddened. There's no incentive for me to invest my creativity in playing or modding Starfield.

Bethesda, this is a farewell from a disheartened fan. Peace.

Hey, what mods did you make? You said you gotten 5 million downloads, so it must be good. Could you tell me what they are?

To all Cyberpunk haters: at least it was fixable. NPC interaction is still worse than GTA V and some bugs remain but otherwise i think it’s a great game and would buy it again.

They really screwed up when even top tier modders of their previous works won't touch it.

It goes to show. You can't polish a turd.

SSeths jokes about the fanbase for this game just being dads I don't think lines up, there is no way these shills spent their own money on this game. Some of y'all need to put mommy's credit card away, spending money you didn't earn is actively killing this industry :steamfacepalm:. Get used to watching Todd sit out the game awards.

This is one of the worst shoutboxes I've ever seen.

Great review, nonetheless

"Fare thee well, everyone! It truly pains me to say it, and I shutter at the thought, but alas.. I must depart.. I know you all will love me and will mournfully cry out passionately 'don't go!', but I must! It fills me with such dread to leave you all behind. I know you love me and my mods so dearly, but on the morrow you shall naught see me or my mods in the field of Stars!"
