Fun little 'city' management game that has some interesting twists to the gameplay. You aren't managing a single huge city, but rather a series of settlements that you need to 'complete'. Each one seems to take me an hour or so, so the gameplay loop is broken into easily digestible chunks.

In particular I really enjoy the sound design for the game - the sound effects and music are both very pleasing and relaxing, probably my favorite part of the game.

After my first playthrough I have to say this was a really amazing experience. I went into this with no clue what was going on save for what was in the trailer and I really enjoyed every single moment. The story was fascinating to me and, thank god, did not have a cliche ending like I was worried about. The narration was excellent; I went into this not realizing Johnathan Sims was the narrator - I was a big fan of the Magnus Archives, so that was a fantastic surprise! The VA for the Princess was also excellent and did a wonderful job conveying the different moods in different parts. The art was excellent - simple where it needed to be, conveying detail and horror where appropriate. Overall, just a treat - easily something I will want play again to explore more.

Somewhat slow-paced, thought provoking game. Definitely not for people only looking for something action packed, but if you want something interesting and unusual in a game, this would be a good pick. All in all it has a good sense of humor and some interesting gameplay, mixing riddles and word games with dungeon crawling. All the characterizations in the game - the necromancer's constant needling, the weird vocalizations your characters do, and the NPCs you run into - are entertaining, and manage a level of weirdness that isn't just 'zomg isn't this random hehe'. The voice acting suits the game very well. I also find the card minigame pretty enjoyable.

I've got a few very minor gripes with it - something about the way the camera moves was very disorienting to me at first, but there are options to change the speed and such, so it's workable. This is a game that is served well by having a demo available for sure, but overall I think I would be able to recommend this to a lot of people I know.

Bought this and literally spent the rest of my day binging it, almost 11 hours straight. They managed to copy the formula of the first one perfectly without just making the same game again - if you were a fan of the original this is basically a must-buy.
