Company of Heroes is one of the best RTS's available. I really wanted the series to continue and have waited two years since release for the updates, overhauls and polish to come together into something amazing.

However, CoH3 does not hold a candle to CoH2. More players are playing CoH2 than CoH3 for a reason.

I could tear down this game, but just a few things are obvious when comparing CoH3 to CoH2:
- The UI is basic
- The gameplay feels very floaty, like people are not actually having a fight for their lives in a war.
- Soundscape is lacking
- Customisation is poor, 2 years in and only 1 DLC, 4 commanders per faction
- No soviets

Auto-reinforce is nice, and so are the base builders and better alt-tabbing. Those are the only nice quality of life improvements I can think of. CoH2 is a better company of heroes and it's super cheap.

Maybe in another two years things would have changed but it is not the case now.

Simply amazing.
Only one draw back, you have to fight with the camera every 10 seconds as it keeps pulling itself into the centre of the screen. It's annoying as hell, widespread and apparently there is no fix. So if you can overlook that then 10/10 game.

It's a game that has something for everyone, logistics, team work, solo play, tactics, etc. A unique game which is worth checking out, especially on sale.

One of the best games I have played in years.
Everything is on point, graphics are slick, combat feels great, performance is good, characters are cool, story is wacky.
Only cons are DLC weapons on launch, and a few fights/levels/bosses cut from the game to make it a bit more "serious".
Very impressed though.

Game of the year

The Left for Dead formula perfected. Playing in the dark on the power cut missions is a great experience.

One of THE great city builders. Has aged well and still easy to sink hours into.

2022: In a different era, this would have just been marked as an expansion. It's not it's own game really.

The 8 player campaign is exciting though, and I can't wait to see that in Shogun 3 or similar. If it is playable in Mortal Empires then that could be cool I guess.

Many issues that need fixing though. Another game released too early.

2024: Pretty good, still waiting on Shogun 3
