Honestly went into it initially thinking "Eh, free game, could be fun", and was very impressed. Takes the formula that made TF2 and OW popular, and built upon it. Wish it was 1st person instead of 3rd, but it works well.

The gameplay has certainly gotten a bit more convoluted, and the seasons and MTX are still annoying, but when it comes to a smooth shooter, this game still has it going there. Wish they didn't remove zones or lock away gear designs each season/expac though.

Overall, there are plenty worse shooters out there for the price, and the story has certainly expanded quite a bit. I can appreciate putting an effort into a story for a shooter game. Worth snagging on sale definitely.

Somewhat bare bones and simple, but the game is very relaxing to play. Lots of stuff to plant and craft, without getting hit by energy issues. Only thing "energy" related is the Focus meter, which gives a boost to exp when using a skill. No penalty from not keeping that up aside from leveling things up slower.

Those jumping into the game with friends expecting group content early on may be disappointed, as the group stuff isn't really prominent at first. Starting out it's mainly "meet everyone and build your plot of land and eventually construct a house". But, that being said, it's a nice timewaster game with no major issues, and quite enjoyable to play so far.

Couple graphics bugs here and there, but haven't encountered anything gamebreaking yet. There are also MTX in the game, unsurprising given it's a free to play game, but mainly they are cosmetics with the occasional XP booster, and being theres no PVP or contests of the sort, that's not too big of a deal. The cosmetics are pretty dang pricy though. Game is free, so worth picking up to give a try.

May update the review farther along the storyline as gameplay elements are unlocked and/or found.

If you loved old school Harvest Moon, you will love this one.

Indie dev who put a lot of love and work into this game. Definitely worth an add to the collection.

Fun game but felt lacking compared to Saints Row 2 and 3.

Positives: Still a great source of mayhem and insanity with humor peppered in throughout. Controls are mostly solid. Characters grow on you after a bit and the overall theme works well for a reboot. I enjoy the new enemy gangs as they do stand out a bit from the older ones and fill their own niche and teh dynamics between each of them are good. I enjoyed how they aren't all allies under one roof and they do come into conflict with one another. The PMC Marshall as a faction works surprisingly well. The map and setting is also rendered beautifully for the most part, though I do think the island style of Stillwater and Steelport works best for open world sandbox games. The weapons and vehicles are still quite fun, and I like the wingsuit travel methods a lot. The goofiness of the Dustmoot plotline was done pretty well too, though I wish it would have added a certain character to your allies.

Negatives: Some annoying glitches, but nothing game breaking. The leaders of two of the factions are kinda two dimensional, with only the Marshall faction getting fleshed out. The plot directions are also kinda confusing at times. Also lacks some of the elements of the older games that made them stand out, but times change, and so does humor. Gotta definitely go into the game with an open mind, and expecting some of the dirtier and darker jokes will leave you wanting. As mentioned before, while the map is gorgeous, island maps work better, as you notice where the clean rendering ends if flying around. The borders of the map come up on you quickly too. There are also a lot of plot threads hanging due to Volition getting gutted by Embracer. I also wish that the additional structures you got were a bit more fleshed out with more options to add all those decorations. Kinda sucks getting a tower with only the roof being accessible (with no customization that you could certainly spend hours finding).

Overall, the game isn't the best of the series, but doesn't deserve all the hate it did get on release. There is still a lot of fun to be had with a lot of humor and lampshades all over, and it's sad that there probably won't be any more thanks to those dips at Embracer. (Personally, 2 and 3 are definitely better overall, though I would put it over 1 and 4), It's worth a shot if you find it on sale with the two expansion missions.

Completed the game storyline with finding all the collectibles and secrets strewn about, and got most of the achievements. Only things left were some simple ones I forgot about, multiplayer ones, and one I really didn't want to go through the hassle to get.

A tentative thumbs up for the future as many of the issues that plagued the initial release seem to be getting looked at and fixed over time. When working properly, the game is legit fun just like Skylines 1. While this one feels a bit more bare compared to 1, I also know that this game lacks a lot of the DLC packs that made Skylines 1 so phenomenal. So, this is a thumbs up as the base game is still fun and enjoyable, with the caveat that they are addressing issues, and future additions will push this game beyond.

It's a competent simple arena shooter with a couple objective-based modes (KOTH and a collect/deposit mode). Game doesnt feel too unbalanced yet, and the pace is fun. The multiple teams in each mode (3v3v3, 3v3v3v3) adds a good dynamic to the games, and it actually pushes for some strategy.

Certainly worth the cost if you are looking for a game like this, though being free to play, expect a pile of microtransactions if you want to look like anything beyond the starting default kit. Maked that I got the game for free because the game is free to play!

A very enjoyable relaxing game. Run a tavern/inn, make food, drinks, gather materials, and more! Build the best tavern you can!

Simple fun, and worth giving a shot!
