Strips away almost everything that made 1 and 2 so good and delivers a more conventional cover shooter action game with some light horror elements. Most of the game feels like it's out on planet in generic snow instead of in space and in ships where the environment design has excelled. Environmental tension building is replaced with hordes of enemies with little variation that just come at you relentlessly. I imagine co-op is how this is meant to be played because the amount of enemies thrown at once doesn't feel well balanced for a single player. The pacing and repetition of some sections made the game feel almost twice as long as it actually was, and the story telling took a step backwards with a cringy love triangle taking centre stage for a good portion of the game. It's not a bad game by any means, it just loses that Dead Space character and my love for the first 2 games is why I'm so hard on this one. Feels more like a gears game with some necromorphs tacked on.

Dead Space 3 Awakened DLC is too short but serves as a piece of redemption. Much better story telling and Isaac's tormented mind shines through again, as does the tension and environment design. The most tormenting part of it all is the ending sets up a sequel we will never get.

It's still a recommend bordering on me wanting to give it a thumbs down. I would use a neutral option if it was available. I do still think it's worth playing to advance the story if you enjoy 1 & 2, it's just not on the same level or in the same spirit.

Still a couple of minor stutters and texture flickering issues but largely plays well after recent patching. I've played the ps4 remastered version and questioned the need for a remake but this version looks absolutely stunning and elevates TLOU to a new experience.

Satisfying combat and stealth elements, amazing world building, and a tightly paced story that you won't be able to put down. A must play for anybody who likes story rich games.

Game looks fantastic, soundtrack is excellent, the story is great with equally funny and hard hitting moments, characters are likeable, and game play is fun especially once you unlock some moves that help mitigate the sponginess of foes. I expected nothing but this was a gaming highlight in 2021, highly recommend.

It's straight up just a mobile game with enough dlc to rival your house mortgage blown up on a computer screen. Terrible, don't waste your ssd life downloading it.

I think this is the sweet spot for gaming for me these days. Easy to follow linear storyline, simple but fun gameplay, relatively short missions, and a sprinkle of fun humour. Hit all the right spots. I hadn't played the original so this was a whole new experience for me, still stands on its own without relying on nostalgia. Truly a masterpiece.

The first game in a long time I could not put down. You owe it to yourself to pick this up next time its on sale if you haven't played it yet and enjoy atmospheric story driven games. The controls are a little clunky (recommend using a controller) and the combat is repetitive but all of its flaws are forgiven for the amazing story.

Also it has excellent ultrawide support (letterboxed pre-rendered cutscenes only) with a fov slider. Something some modern games could learn from.

+Great graphics
+Good range of cars and tracks
+Enough tuning options to keep you from seeing the light of day for a few weeks
+Every car feels different, you can even feel the difference in power delivery
+Gokarts!

-Online play suffers from terrible racers and there is seemingly no real rating or reputation feature in place to avoid them with
-A few bugs but these are being reduced as time goes on. Nothing game breaking for me
