I jumped on the hype train for DD2 just in time to catch the preorder bonus... Weapons which I never used and a few other baubles that are all available in game anyway. So anyone with FOMO there, fear not, you missed nothing of any real value.

I've not experienced the performance issues noted in other reviews, save 1 crash while talking to an NPC, so I'm one of the lucky few. Nor do I care about micro ̶a̶g̶r̶e̶s̶s̶i̶o̶n̶s̶ transactions, they've become a part of AAA game releases, especially those catering to a culture that is primarily pay to win. Don't support it? Then don't buy it. The currency can be earned in-game.

I'm not impressed with the game. The gameplay feels sluggish, half-baked and more an afterthought than anything.
The camera is the absolute worst I've dealt with in any game, having to change all the default sensitivities to max just to make it playable, and the zoom adjustment is barely noticeable.
Combat is flashy the first 4 times you use a special attack but rapidly feels stale. There is no difficulty adjuster that I've found, so if you're looking for a challenge, look elsewhere.
There is so much spam dialogue from the pawns, I ended up dismissing them. Worse than the portal lady in Hogwarts Legacy.
Every NPC interaction that's quest/story related is just lines of dialogue to be button smashed through; you have no response options. All of these feel like they should be cut scenes that are skippable.
The in-game economy makes no sense. Rewards range from a potato to thousands of gold, which seem to have a value that fluctuates between an Argentine Peso and the American Dollar. Common ingredients cost 100x + their sell value, (most) armors are surprisingly cheap in comparison.
The story is interesting enough to make me want to complete a play-thru and I am hoping to discover new fun in new game+.
Over all, at its current price and with the many documented issues, I cannot recommend this game. Wait for 50% off if you're on the fence.

This DLC feels like it was outsourced and never play tested. Like a desperate grab for money as if the studio is failing and in need of cash flow, or like how EA would kowtow to investors and rush content. It all comes down to greed and boy do I feel like I got fleeced.

The bugs and crashes are numerous. The added content is archaeology with extra spam, the reworks over previous versions don't make sense (we're gonna do a pack for leaders! Oh, you were finally starting to like leaders? Here's a rework!).
The price tag doesn't really line up with previous DLCs that added similar content.

...All in all, I'd very much like Paradox to revert to 3.9 and go back to the drawing board with this one.

Early Access Review
So when I first heard of this game, I was skeptical. "Oh, another early access survival game." But the graphics..."
Glad I bought into the hype anyway.
The game is downright fun. Its got an intuitive crafting system, combat is just challenging enough, it has new resources in each biome that pushes me to explore, its got base building, and if you so choose, PVP.
I honestly spent 8 hours just tending to pigs, a garden and laying out an area for a castle, while my friends explored and gathered resources.
Its everything games like rust or ark promise, but with a smaller impact on the hard drive (about 1gb), a less toxic environment, less bugs (45 hours and the only bug I've experienced is a gravestone disappearing before I could claim items) and a price tag that is more than fair for what you get.
With this game being in an early access state, my greatest concern is the devs abandoning it. But given its popularity, I don't think that will happen any time soon and I look forward to watching it grow into something greater.

8.5/10.

Definitely consider adding this to your library. Without a doubt purchase if it goes on sale.

AOL Time Warner disbands Netscape Communications Corporation. The Mozilla Foundation is established on the same day.
Crazy in Love was at the top of the charts in the US and UK.
Jesse Ventura was serving his final term as governor of Minnesota and celebrated his birthday.

Bioware released Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

First, lets address known issues:
https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=427275987
Credit to DarK_St3alth for the above, it covers many of the known issues with KOTOR.
Keep in mind this game is now over 15 YEARS OLD. Its going to have compatibility issues with current gen PCs. Its unavoidable. But it doesn't make it any less playable with some research and if necessary, google-fu.

This game, like many Bioware games before it, set the standard for the Role Playing Game video game experience.
And quite possibly, caused the company to plateau and begin its own demise, resulting in titles like Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem. But I digress.

KOTOR was, and in my opinion remains, one of the best games ever created. The game allows you to immerse yourself into the Star Wars universe along side a few of the best characters ever imagined. From an assassin droid that will provide you with hours of entertaining dialogue to a sassy "grey" jedi, to an actual Mandalorian soldier, looking for a fight.
Though the graphics of the game do not hold up against the current generation, the story is still amazing and the many different variations you can put your character through will allow you to feel as if you have control over your own destiny.
The music is brilliant, with various themes for planets you will visit, combat and antagonistic marches.
In its original state, the game took myself about 40 hours to complete to 100% on a single character. Worried about replayability? Try a different starting class, or a different advanced class, or a different side of the force, or using different party members, or completing things in a different order to see cutscenes or conversations you had never seen before! Or just play it again to bask in the glory that is the epitome of RPG gaming.

The gameplay offers an auto pause feature so you can queue up commands for each party member, similar to other bioware titles. Some of the combat animations are tiring as they cycle through every fight, and a lot of the skills and feats will likely never be purchased on the main character (at least on the first play through). Unfortunately, the game locks you into one starting class and then later a secondary, so you may find a wide variety of things useless on one character. But that is opportunity to pay closer attention to your other party members.

I cannot express how much I love this game. And I will always return to it, as if a faithful friend, when I am disappointed by developer offerings or missing running around pissing off Carth.

KOTOR also still sports an active mod community, offering more to do and more variation.

Graphics: 10/10 for its time, 6/10 currently
Story: 9/10
Gameplay: 7/10

My recommendation? Purchase this game if you don't have it.
Play it if you haven't recently.

Edit- Taking into consideration No Man's Sky: Next.

Let me start by pointing out that the game has now been out for 2 years. It took two years for the devs to begin moving in the direction of what they promised prior to launch.
About a year after game launch, the price on NMS dropped to about 40$ US.
But now that Next is out, right back to 60$.
People are paying full price for a game that has consistently failed for 2 years.
Just throwing that thought out there.

I haven't played Next, yet. But I'm told its made vast improvements over the original dungheap release. I'm planning on spending some time re-introducing myself to the game this weekend, and like two years ago, I have hope for a good experience. But I also expect to be let down, as before...

Original review below:

PLEASE NOTE: Hellogames profile http://steamproxy.net/profiles/76561198065923277 , the Publisher steam profile, still has less than 2 hours of gameplay on this trash heap. Clearly waiting til no one is watching to refund.

I prepurchased NMS thinking it would be a typical grind, move on, grind some more, move on, eventually win game.
Thats exactly what I got.

Then I started reading all the pissed off fanboys who expected X content and got Y.
Now I'm upset I spent as much money as I did on this trash heap.

The devs lied about content, PC requirements, and having on clean underwear. After a few days, they fixed the pc requirements issues, but have still been constantly and consistently dodging issues, questions and feedback. Its as if they launched the game, decided they made their money and closed up shop.

I bought a Ponzi Scheme.

11/10 would waste money again.

This game is everything Rust wanted to be.
Intuitive crafting, gorgeous setting, intriguiging story, moments that may make you soil yourself, and an 80's montage soundtrack (once you find the tapes/tape recorder).
If survival is your thing, buy this game.
If horror action is your thing, buy this game.
If you like both, buy two copies and bring a friend.
If you liked the first two seasons of Lost, buy this game.
If you like Cannibal Holocaust, buy this game.

Ever wonder what it would be like to play a fast paced, top down shooter while tripping balls on shrooms? This game roots through the ♥♥♥♥ for you and answers that question.
If you're prone to motion sickness or seizures DO NOT buy this game. You WILL end up in the ER.

This game needs A LOT of work.
Don't get me wrong, it has a great concept, original artwork and a whole different loot/power up system. I especially like the idea of being able to build a hero to fill any role. This allows you to custom taylor for your own play style. I can also appreciate that clearly a lot of work went into making this what it is so far. The characters all have back stories, the system seems balanced, and the game itself has a far more casual feel to it.

But that doesn't stop it from being a LoL clone. I see it compared to DotA alot but I would disagree with that. This is more like LoL in the sense that it is pay to win. That is step one to making any game unplayable, and the game was already expensive to begin with.
The game is buggy as hell, which is to be expected in any beta. Don't be surprised if your hero goes the completely opposite direction from where you click, and be ready to learn that heros will follow the most visible route, not the fastest.
The short game time doesn't really allow for extreme building, and simply laning can take up a lot of the game for the inexperienced. This gamer feels that the addition of the dungeons (similar to creep camps, but in an off-map local), while novel and interesting, is useless under a time constraint condition.
The shop... oh dear me the shop. Its cluttered, you have to search item info for stat changes, and you can't visually tell the difference. I found myself clicking the "auto-upgrade" button more often than not, which is against everything I know in a MOBA.
The matchmaking is non-existent, so good luck getting much more out of this than bot matches.
In conclusion, the game brings fresh ideas to the table and has the makings of a decent game. But its clearly a long way off from that. Don't waste money on it, but don't be discouraged from trying it if/when it becomes available.
It is this gamer's hope that the game sees it all the way to completion and realizes some of the concepts that they have implemented, and carefully consider others.

TL;DR
Free or not at all.
