Early Access Review
Soulstone Survivors is an outstanding addition to the survivor-like genre that hooked me from the moment I tried its demo. With five challenging maps, 20 unique characters, and an incredibly deep progression system, it offers dozens of hours of engaging gameplay.
What sets this game apart is its satisfying power progression. While characters start with similar abilities, they quickly evolve into distinct playstyles through a combination of talent trees, weapon upgrades, and a flexible rune system. The runes allow you to mix abilities between characters and create powerful synergies, leading to spectacular moments where your powers can fill the entire screen with effects.
The game strikes a perfect balance between accessibility and depth. Progression is tied to enemy kills rather than time, and the curse system lets you gradually increase difficulty for greater rewards. The unique Cathedral mode adds variety by forcing you to make tactical ability choices, preventing the reuse of previous selections.
After trying countless survivor-likes, this one stands out for its polished mechanics and generous content. The fact that demo progress carries over to the full game makes it an easy recommendation – try it out and see for yourself why it's one of the best in the genre.
