PSN account should not be a requirement to play the game after it was played without it.
Since they have backpedalled from the idea there is nothing else for me to do but change the review. GL HF Helldivers.

Early Access Review
I'm disappointed to see that this game is mostly made of reused stuff from the first Slime Rancher. Some things were not added such as minigames, and for example the deluxe coop upgrade is just there from the start without the need to unlock it, however, there are no new upgrades to the base buildings, there are no new models, these are all taken 1:1 from the first game and put here, so it really looks like it's copy paste game.
The game also is not as smooth as the first was, there are minor stutters every minute or so, and that was when playing on medium settings. I had no issues on the highest settings in the first game.

Alright so there are of course more slime types, and while cute and fun to play with, nothing has changed when it comes to how the old ones look or sound, nothing has also changed in terms of how you manage your base, as mentioned before there are no new features or items, for the almost 3 hours I've spent I have seen only a single new veggie, brace yourselves for regular or stony hens, pogofruits, carrots and cuberries for at least few first hours of the game.
Market is exactly the same as it was.
Refinery and fabricator are there from the start and you now use them to upgrade your vacpack, the previous upgrades that were purchased with just Newbucks require Plorts and special items such as Brine. It limits how quickly you upgrade everything, and in my opinion is a bit more elegant than the previous "wait for something to unlock next upgrade and just buy it because you're already stacked on Newbucks".
The drills, pumps and apiaries are not there anymore, instead the resources such as Deep Brine are collected outside your ranch with your vac after you purchase a Resource Harvester upgrade, these resources are now special nodes that contain 2 or 3 items, and then are put on a timer and you need to return for more later.
Treasure pods can be opened without any upgrades, and they contain decorations or blueprints.
Tarrs are just as scary and dangerous as they were previously. Meaning they can be ignored.

The biggest sin for me was that there don't seem to be any return teleports in the world or available by feeding Gordos like there were in the first game, at least there were no teleports under 4 Gordos, which is a bummer and requires you to either fabricate a one-way teleporter or run back to the base. It's really tedious.
The biomes are no longer connected by land, but they have teleporters that are turned on with the same buttons as there were in Ancient City found behind gordos or "insert X type plort into a statue" puzzle, oh and there is also a loading screen whenever you travel from one biome to the other, it's rather annoying after not having to deal with loading screens in the first game.

Overall I would rate the game "Slime Rancher 1, but less".

Township I believe is in even worse position than it was before.
The whole archeology and cartography is such a bloat and bank space filler that it is more annoying than fun to play.

Every run is incredibly stressful, especially when you are 1 or 2 turns away from losing your 3 hour run.
It feels amazing though when you manage to win despite the odds.
10/10

Can't skip properly to the main menu after a ranked match anymore.

Ranked points are bugged right now, I receive barely any points compared to my friends, where one of them receives invisible bonus points.
For example for a 1st place game he received 690 points, where it was 235 ladder points for winning and 130 bonus points where the rest was invisible and the game end screen did not display it. I received 296 points for the same game with a bit more kills, assists and more damage.
