It's good to be back.

It's 2022 and these imbeciles are still forcing tank controls on horses. Something that should have died with the PS1.

Already beaten this on Switch, but I'm buying this again because it's the most fun I've had from a 2D platformer in a while.
GV3 better be good.

Yakuza 0 is a fantastic rhythm game from Sega, coming to PC following its 2015 release on PlayStation consoles. Set in 1980s Japan, this game tells the story of Kiryu and Majima on their paths of becoming the most famous idols ever.

The core gameplay is divided into two parts, karaoke and dancing. In the karaoke mode, you tap the buttons on your controller following the beats of the song. While the mechanics are similar to many other rhythm games, the intense visuals and character expressions definitely add an extra layer of immersion into the gameplay. In contrast, the dancing mode requires you to follow the notes in a grid of squares, and to complete a series of QTEs in order to gain extra score. This mode brings another level of complexity into the game, and sets Yakuza 0 apart from its many rivals, such as Project Diva.

Apart from the main rhythm gameplay, the game also features extra story quests. Taking the form of a series of beat-em-ups, the story quests tell the backstory of the main characters (Kiryu and Majima) before they become idols. The beat-em-up gameplay is surprisingly fast and responsive, and is a sweet extra touch to the game's core rhythmic nature. The town of Yakuza is also stuffed with a large number of minigames, ranging from darts and baseball to real estate management.

The PC port is awesome for some, and questionable for others. Some people have been reporting crashes and FPS issues on their ends, but for those who got the game running, it runs like a charm. Personally, I got the game running at constant 60FPS at 1080p, on my i5-7300HQ and GTX 1050, with everything maxed except AA and supersampling.

Overall, despite PC port issues for some people, Yakuza 0 is a solid rhythm game, and I recommend everyone to give it a try.

They finally got the art style right with this one. Also, the new gameplay twists, like vehicles and buildings, make the game feels much better.

Still, i wish they'd put more love to the single play campaign, like they did with the 3D Worms games.
