This is by far up there on the top best tactical and most immersive FPS games you can get your hands on. Ready or Not sets in a city based on real life Los Angeles, which puts you into the eyes of one of the Police Department's SWAT officer. If you're playing in single-player mode, you assume the role of an operator that goes by "Judge", the commanding officer of the unit. You're task to respond to 911 calls that most will certainly have criminals armed with firearms. Maps will start off easy to help you get a grasp of how the game mechanics work, but will slowly get harder and more challenging. As further on there will be much bigger maps, more criminals to shoot/arrest, more hostages to secure and even bombs to defuse.

Story
Throughout your playthrough, Ready or Not actually tells you a not so subtle story through missions and environmental story-telling, both on the missions themselves and in the Police Station. Some missions are linked together into a single high profile crime which you end up solving either by eliminating or arresting the mastermind. The Police Station evidence room also furthers the story plot as each completed mission will bring back a few crime scene artifacts that deepens the lore.

Gunplay
Ready or Not features a wide variety of different firearms the SWAT operator can use, along with numerous attachments. Pistols, Sub-Machine Guns, Assault Rifles, Shotguns and even less-lethals are available to cater to your missions. None of the weapons or attachments require unlocking and are all available on your first mission. Each firearm are very realistically animated and depicted. Shotguns have the potential to blow off limbs at point blank range and SMGs tend to deal less damage to armours criminals and have less wall penetration. The Police Station also has a shooting range available for you to test out each firearm.

Equipments and loadouts
Besides firearms, there's also additional tactical gear available at your disposable that's carefully balanced. You have multiple armour options, grenades, launchers and face mask available in the loadout menu that can be customised to your preference. You can also save your preferred loadouts both for yourself and your BOT officers in Single Player. For example, if you're aiming for that S Rank, Pepperball Gun with Gas Mask and CS Gas grenades are a good combination to arrest criminals without killing them.

AI NPCs
The AI is by far one of the best depicted in a video game. AI Criminals are brutal, if they can see you through cracks in the wall, through shelves or your flashlight, they won't hesitate to open fire. Even with your footsteps and voice commands can alert the criminals. Criminals can sometimes hide a knife or handgun in their belt that can easily catch you off guard during an arrest.

NPC AIs are also really well implemented designed to put stress and confusion to you. You can sometimes get NPCs that put their hands up, but then pull out their smartphones to take pictures of you, like an average clout chasing tiktoker. In the dark, this can easily be mistake for a firearm. As an officer in a high stress environment, this can result in quite a fatal outcome and Ready or Not really hammers down that modern first responder experience.

AI SWAT BOTs are also smart and well implemented. You can command your unit to do exactly what you tell them to, whether to breach a door with a kick and flashbangs, or to clear an area after all objectives are met. Even if you end up getting shot and died, SWAT AIs will automatically clear objectives to the best of their abilities. They're the best buddies you can have especially in single player. However, one of the biggest issue I experienced is that the SWAT AIs sometimes would just stand in the open without any cover and let the criminals gun them down. Especially when there's multiple opening fire.

Updates
This game is still getting updates, even after launch and out of Early Access with new content being added on yearly; more quality of life improvements, gameplay fixes and DLCs. Additional content as DLCs will cost extra money, but they're are relatively cheap and can give you a few more maps to play. Even without DLCs, new guns are readily available for free in the base game.

Summary:
Ready or Not is highly recommended to players who wants to experience an immersive tactical FPS. The game features a not so subtle lore and backstory, along with variety of weapons, gear and equipment to use on your own preference in each dispatch missions. The AIs, especially the criminals are brutal, making sure you are on your A game every mission and to move and clear as carefully as possible. Without the right gear, you can easily die with a single gunshot.

If you're into tactical shooters, this is definitely a game you want to check out. It's intense, immersive and a team driven close quarters combat game based on real life events. The procedural generated environments will always shape how you will complete a mission objective. The props, particles combined with the environmental atmosphere were really well produced by the devs to make it look as authentic as possible. It's a bit like a horror game trying to clear a house that's pitch dark, not knowing whether there's an insurgent hiding around the corner.

That being said, at the time of this review it's still in "Early Access". There are many bugs that needs to be addressed and improvements to be made. Some noticeable bugs/improvements to list are:
- Clipping issues. The viewmodel firearms will sometimes clip through walls during ammo inspection.
- Insurgent AI. Sometimes they would see you, start shooting their AKs and miss half a magazine from 15 meters away. Other times, they would turn on their wall hacks and start pre-firing with a PKM with pin point accuracy.
- Weapon animations. These can be further improved, as of now the weapon handling and reloading do feel a bit janky and robotic.
- Mission and role selection. You cannot select the missions you want to play, it's all randomised. Same with the roles (unless you are the "leader" of the lobby queue), you'll be placed into a random loadout kit to play.
- Lead player host servers. Whenever a game starts, it'll be hosted on the "leader's" server. So if the leader decides to quit, it'll shut down the entire server.
- Chat. No text chat in-game, only voice chat.

Although currently there is a handful of mission objectives to play, each mission will have it's map randomly generated. Which is a nice feature to have to keep replay-ability. This game does have potential to be a very authentic tactical shooter and I will stay around to see what future updates will bring to improve on this game.

RE4 Remake is possibly one of the best Remakes of the classic Resident Evil games built from the ground up on the new RE Engine. Unlike one of the previous Remake titles ahem...RE3..., this one feels a lot more polished in terms of gun play, exploration, survival and resource management.

Gun Play
Firearms feel a lot more beefier in terms of sound design, and the animation of Leon literally "Wick Flicking" the empty mag out on a dry pistol is extremely satisfying. The third person animation has definitely seen massive improvement over the previous 2 Remake titles. Every weapon has it's perks, so gun play will feel different with a variety of weapons you equip. Oh, and pistols can now hold an extra round in the chamber when you perform tactical reloads, which is a nice realistic touch. However, this is not the case for long arms for some reason.

Exploration
The map of RE4 is massive, almost like a massive Open World. Tons of treasures, loot and secret hidden throughout for you to explore, as well as mini-side quests which upon completion will yield you reward tokens to trade at the Merchant for exclusive items. Which definitely helps to encourage backtracking to previous discovered areas.

Survival and Resource Management
Survival is the key in RE4 Remake, you're encouraged to run more than to go straight for headshot kills at the beginning of the game. You start off with very limited ammo and health items, so every shot must count. Enemies are also extremely aggressive with their attacks, which helps to incentivise you to use knife parries a lot more. It is also recommended to place headshots as there are chances of critical hit that will allow you to knife or roundhouse kick enemies to death, saving a bit of ammo along the way. Enemies and monsters will get stronger every passing chapter, prompting you to adapt your fighting techniques tactically and strategically.

In Summary
Everything from the gun play combats, exploration and survival part of the game is satisfying and greatly improved over the previous 2 Remake titles. One of the biggest complaint I have is that you can only store weapons at the typewriter storage. Which is kinda frustrating when you have ammo for a gun you're not using, and it's just taking up space in the inventory.

This game may be very short, but it definitely sets a benchmark on what one man can really achieve in just a few weeks worth of dedication. If he were to hire a couple more artists to map out a pipline, storyboard a plot, model original 3D assets, and give it about a year or two, there's the potential for this small prototype to become a huge hit. It does put huge AAA studios at shame when they have literal hundreds of staff, and yet can't even produce quality and optimised products as seen in the past few years. Huge props to the dev and I'm hoping to see more of his projects in the future.

This is by far my most favourite Resident Evil game ever. I played the original as a kid on the N64 and simply just fell in love with horror and zombie shooter games ever since. The remake version may have some alterations from the original that changed the story plot in a few ways, but the majority of the Resident Evil lore pretty much stays intact. If you're looking for a zombie shooter game experience that really emphasises on horror, survival and resource management, this is definitely a game worth playing.

Gameplay
RE2 Remake is an over-the-shoulder style third person shooter that involves resource management and a lot of puzzle solving to navigate your way through an overran city. The gun-play isn't too bad and it's very similar to other third person titles. But don't go expecting headshots to easily kill a common zombie. Inventory management is also highly encouraged in RE2, and the game teaches you that early on when you start off the story with very limited resources and inventory space. Puzzles are also very well implemented, with hints and pieces cleverly scattered throughout the environment. Furthermore, puzzles were also made in a way to emphasis the mysteriousness of Resident Evil's backstory, which really does make you curious more about the lore.

Graphics and Environment
Game graphics are simply just amazing, as expected from AAA titles nowadays utilising physically-based rendering. The atmosphere and environment was modelled and rendered exceptionally well to convey the horror elements of a zombie apocalypse. Details such as blood stains, bullet holes, barricades and abandoned belongings really conveys the citizens' desperate attempts at defending themselves from the zombies, and makes you wonder what their final moments were like. The darkness in some areas, especially during your first playthrough, really puts you on edge to always have your handgun pointed in a "ready-to-shoot" stance, expecting a infected zombie to attack you at any moment.

Replay Value
There are 4 routes in total for the RE2 Remake's main story campaign; Leon A & B, Claire A & B. You can either choose to play as Leon or Claire, and experience each of their own story path on how they managed to survive the T-virus outbreak that completely devastated Raccoon City. Each route features it's own distinctive routes and exclusive firearms to use, which also helps to refresh the experience. Furthermore, if you do get bored of the main story campaign, you can also experience RE2's minigames in the 4th Survivor free DLC.

Mods
As expected from a PC game, Resident Evil also features a very dedicated modding community. If you do ever get bored of the game, there's plenty of easy to install community-made mods that can really spice up your experience.
