customs are the way to go until server issues get fixed, when it works it's very fun. most of the people complaining about the gameplay have not played the tutorials

If you want a comparably decent open world campaign, play any Far Cry. If you want a multiplayer with good customization, play Halo on the MCC.

The campaign is nothing to write home about. Slog story, copy-paste environments. No beaches, no islands, no temples, it just looks like the first level after the tutorial in CE and nothing else. Any Far Cry game has more stuff to do. At least it plays nice.

As it is right now, Halo Infinite has less content than any Halo to date. No forge, no co-op, no proper progression system, the game is free to play but at the cost of an established spartan customization system that's been in place since Halo 2. I can't make new color combinations, now it all has to be payed for instead of having everything coming with the game.

Even for a F2P the store prices are egregious. 12 bucks for armor that came with the game 12 years ago with Reach? Sure it was a grind and I had to pay for XBox Live, but at least it was there on launch. To buy everything in the store, you have to spend over $1000 dollars. Paying for XBL from the time the game came online until servers shut down, along with the most expensive special edition, would cost less than all the cosmetics put together.

Cost of the game isn't the barrier of entry anymore, it's the hardware. You don't get much "bang for your buck" like you do with Halo MCC.

Feels like the game should've been delayed another year or so. It plays good, but there's essentially nothing else.
