One of the best medieval games and most beautiful scenarios I have ever played in a video game.

just came directly after finishing The Last of Us and I can say that this game is better in a lot of ways, mainly gameplay. It has very innovative gameplay with the rats, stealth, crafting with alchemy, etc that keeps changing all the times and you never get bored.

I just wished the facial animations were better but since the voice acting and story is so good, you don't even notice.

Well I really hate how the quests and NPCs voice lines are written. It completely break the immersion of a medieval simulator. Sometimes they do jokes that would never exist in the medieval ages, referring to modern times. Specially in the first map. I started to play on it and hated the game because of this immersion breaking thing.

But then I gave another change and played the second map, that for me it is changes a lot. It feels like the devs were more experienced and grounded when they created Oxbow, including map design, decorations, locations and quests. It's a pitty that there are not voice overs for the quests.

Now going back to the survival part of the game, it is really good.
I really wish you had more customisations for the buildings, because your town is gonna be looking like a copy/paste since there are not many variations, specially for the houses. But if you are careful enough, it is possible to overcome this by placing it correctly and using tons of decoration, to make it more realistic and immersive.

The default map configs for technology (unlocking buildings) and seasons are very weird. It takes soooo long to unlock a sitting bench or any basic decoration or buildings. Also everything is super expensive in the beginning.

But since it's a map config, you can always adjust the gameplay to your needs, like increasing tech gain to 500% or so, meaning that this problem is easy to solve.

The NPCs are a bit stupid but just the fact that they can be your settlers it's amazing.

But overall the game is super good, it reminds me a lot of Kingdom Come Deliverance and From the Ashes DLC.

I still have to play more to unlock a few things, but I already recommend this game because it's exactly what they promised it to be. Just don't start your first game in the first map, like I did. xD

I really hope they don't abandon the game, and that they add more combat features for late game.

This game is amazing. I read and watched reviews before buying it, and all of them are true.

One thing that they don't tell you clearly is: this game is a sandbox adventure where there's no main quest and you're open to do what you want with it.

I totally recommend, even tho I haven't played in coop yet, the single player is amazingly addictive.

It mixes RTS and top-down RPG in a way that feels super unique, especially with its base building mechanics. The story mode is surprisingly good too, adding depth to the experience. But what really blows me away is the map design as it sets a new standard for visuals in the genre (and the game is old). Not even new games like AoE 4 and AoM Retold are capable of doing a good job as they did. If you’re into base-building, strategy, and a bit of magic, this game’s a must-play. Even if you're not, give it a shot because it's just that good.

If Total War: Warhammer, Heroes of Might and Magic, and Civilization had a wild night together, this game would be their lovechild. They took all the best from each and somehow made a strategy game that actually works.

Co-op is super smooth and works very well, where you can control the enemy units vs your friends in battles were you're not part.

There are a lot of features coming from the games I mentioned above that makes the gameplay very deep and full of stuff to do. 100% recommend.

Simply the best mod made out there.
I played Nehrim and this one, and you can feel the love they put into this game that even the Bethesda devs did not put into Skyrim.

This game is my top 1 of all time.
From all the games I have ever played, this one has a massive amount of features, the best immersion and it's overall ecosystem makes it the best one so far.

My favourite medieval game of all time. It is not perfect due to it's engine limitations, but the story and the world is amazing.

I do recommend this game. Whatever the bad reviews are complaining about, it is true. The game is not perfect.

I think it should have been linear, because they crafted each mission with a lot of care. The open world aspect is what make the game bad sometimes.

Even after the updates you can see some weird stuff happening such a path finding for cars while on missions, NPCs behaving weird, copies of the same npc appearing a lot of times in a short interval (even with HDD mode off), etc.

But it does not mean you should not try it. Not recommending means that the game is totally not worth buying, right? So here's my positive recommendation.
