This game is a solid 3/5, but it has some low lows but some really high highs. lets start with the pros

Pros
  1. Amazing graphics
  2. Enchanting music
  3. Fun base building system

Cons
  • Massive world, way too massive
  • You cannot fast travel with certain items
  • AI is easy to abuse and there is a lack of monsters to fight
  • Why the hell would you ever make a permanent base???
  • The death system sucks

Let me elaborate on some cons above.
I'm not against a massive world, but I'm against a massive world with absolutely nothing in it. You'll walk around for a few hours and marvel at the amazing graphics, but soon you'll realize apart from the trees and a few abandoned buildings sprinkled in-between, there is NOTHING to explore. Also with a lack of readily available fast travel, the world feels too expansive. Daggerfall, a game from the 90's and a map bigger than Oklahoma completely bypassed the problem of a massive world map by making fast travel readily available at nearly any time, and you can even fast travel to places that your character has only heard of. The open world in that game is absolutely empty, same as Valheim, yet a comprehensive fast travel system does not exist.

There already exists a fast travel system in the game but it is incredibly limiting. You can't take any ore through it, but what's the purpose of that? It is the most stupid "feature" ever, and all it does is encourage you to backtrack through the massive, empty world that is Valeheim. The actual fun parts of Valheim are sprinkled in through a sea of monotony, and that monotony is dragging your character back and forth to smelt ore and repeat the process. You could probably use a boat, except the sailing system is absolute garbage. The wind never goes where you want it, and to make an actual decent boat you need ore which I haven't bothered trying to get because I cannot stand it.

The AI is pretty bad and the lack of diversity among the monsters is also a bad part of an otherwise alright game. I decided to build a moat with a lone bridge crossing into my main base and whenever the monsters raid my base it is pathetic. They cannot register that there is a path across to my base, they keep falling into the moat and it is pathetic. And when I fought the first boss of the game he was stuck behind a group of trees, and I just kept shooting him with my bow and it made for a pathetic boss fight. The monsters also get boring after a while, because of the massive world. You have the meadows, where you find necks, deer, boar, and little tree creatures. This wouldn't be a problem, but the fact that the meadows can be so so large makes it unbearable. I have gotten so so bored of fighting the same enemies that I just run past them and they can't do anything about it.

The game also seems to encourage making a home base, but why would you ever do that early game? You cannot fast travel with the ore, so it makes it completely useless. And other things such as getting honey and making ♥♥♥♥ take time, so you cannot do that by playing like a nomad. I already regret making a home base because I have to trek back and forth between the Black Forest and the Meadows.

The death system also needs some major tweaking. It seems to try and mimic Dark Souls, but imagine if you were playing Dark Souls and whenever you died you lost 10 levels. It would feel like absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and that's what it is! You lose all of your items and have to trek back through this massive open world to get your stuff, but your skills are forgotten forever.

In conclusion, Valheim is almost what everyone is hyping it up to be. I'll continue playing it, but it still needs some major tweaking so that the world isn't so massive and empty.

This game is barely a fallout game. Bethesda refuses to learn that maybe scaling back their games isn't the best choice, but they are making ludicrous amounts of money so they probably don't care. A lot of the aspects of this game are complete garbage, such as the factions, some quests, and the RPG elements. It does do some things right though, I enjoyed the shootouts and enjoyed some fresh ideas, such as the synths and the institute. I really enjoyed the hardcore mode, in my opinion hardcore is the way Fallout 4 is meant to be played. I'll probably sink more hours into the hardcore mode, but I'll be completely avoiding the crappy factions and main story in the meantime.

This game is literally amazing. When you start out you'll be absolutely clueless about how to survive, but the more you play it you'll become ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Rambo, and becoming good at this game feels so satisfying to me. If you're looking for teamplay I'm not sure if this is the game for you, because in my experience coordination is kept down to a minimum. I never see anyone using their mic, and no one bothers working with you. It's still such a great game though, you should absolutely buy it.

This game is absolutely stellar. It succeeds so well with the WW2 setting and the emphasis on teamplay. When you actually play with your team, this game is amazing. However, every now and again you'll meet that squad who never travels together, and don't even bother to communicate. Don't be that squad, stick with your teammates and even if you don't have a mic, you can just ping the enemy.

I have completely changed my mind about this game, in its current state just don't buy this. Its 35 dollars and that is way too much for this game. It's buggy and poorly optimized, and in my are there are only 2 servers that both have a crappy connection. I can't properly play because the game constantly frame drops.

This is an exceptional Elder Scrolls game, the best in my opinion.

The good stuff:

Faction quests are interesting and have you making complex decisions.

The lore is so rich I keep a library of the lore in my in game house, wish the lore could replace my life its so good.

Story is so good.

Art style is amazing, the world feels so different from the typical fantasy you see in Oblivion and Skyrim.

Exploration is heavily rewarded with interesting items, and doesn't just feature boring caves.

The bad stuff:

Combat is complete garbage, it gets stale pretty early, although if you take the time to learn how it works it is more bearable.

You should save as much as possible, because while exploring there has been multiple occasions where I stumble in on some daedra or dremora and you'll get stuck in a repeated cycle of dying.

The movement speed is garbage also, although it is a skill you can train up and you'll get faster after a while. There is an item called the boots of blinding speed and while fast, they literally blind you.

In the main story there is a complete lack of choices, and I really would've loved to side with the villain.

The graphics have aged horribly. A super thick fog is in front of you at all times, and you cannot see anything more than 3 ft in front of you. I think this was done so people didn't realize the world was so compact, but disabling the fog through modding is so so rewarding.

Overall, this is a must have for any Elder Scrolls fan. There are many mods available to make this game easier for new players, or just improve the graphics.
