Wow. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wow. I've been an ogryn main since launch, and boy do we get absolutely shafted. Every other class gets new things pretty much every update, but the devs forget that ogryn exists. The pickaxes were cool, but now ogryn has 3? 4? melee options total? cleaver, club, shield, power club, and pickaxe? The movesets are only slightly different between all the versions, as well. Forget ogryn guns, hasn't really been much added since launch. Meanwhile, every other class has gotten something new and interesting.

Also, why can't they see that we don't want RNG progression? The itemization update just adds more buttons to do the same thing we could before, just with it taking longer. Here I was hoping that you could actually upgrade a weapon to full, but nope gotta roll a high stat on that too.

The combat is incredibly fun, but don't hold your breath expecting Fatshart to add anything.

Payday 3 is a great game because it caused me to download Payday 2 instead.

In all seriousness, after finishing all 8 heists currently available, it's a mixed bag. Let's start with the pros:

The stealth is great. The updates to the guards makes stealth more viable and fun. Doing more while unmasked is also great.
IMO the best heists rn are no rest for the wicked, dirty ice, under the surphaze, and touch the sky. The rest are either downright awful to play (road rage) or just boring (99 boxes, rock the cradle). Road rage feels like a payday 2 loud only heist, which is great if this game were payday 2. The severely limited ammo supply really hurts, and cops only drop like 2 or 3 bullets. The unlock able guns are mostly a direct downgrade to the starting rifle, and you don't even start with a suppressor for ya know a stealth game. The fun armor perks like Anarchist from PD2 are gone, so good luck surviving a long police assault if you go loud. I've only had a few times where the AI bugs out, but it is really really frustrating when it happens.

Matchmaking sucks. I'm mostly a solo heister, or I play with one or two other people. It's hard to comprehend why a private lobby needs to always be online. For the first few days after launch the servers went down, and nobody could even play the game. An offline mode would have at least let people play the game, but no.

There are like 20 guns total. I miss my akimbo shotguns in payday 2! Although I'm kinda glad the saw is gone. But I miss the goofy builds you could do in payday 2, now the builds are kinda boring and less fun. And to even unlock these guns you need to do challenges instead of just playing the game, so if you stealth too much too bad, no more xp. I've had missions reward me with 0 xp just because I've already stealthed them. TF? Also, weapons level up more through kills, so again good luck leveling up those weapons if you only play stealth. I don't want to play the same heist 20 times or whatever to get one level up.

The C-Stacks are a second currency currently purchasable using in game money. I'm worried that these will become MTX-based in the future. Right now they are used for cosmetics and some unique weapons, but to me the cosmetics all look kinda boring and aren't worth grinding out.

I've enjoyed some of the heists in payday 3, but completing the game felt like more of a chore to not have wasted my money rather than having fun. I'll probably be playing payday 2 more often.

Its addictive, ill give it that. However, main quest is very long. I still havent finished it.

[EDIT] i said that 200 hours ago. the combat, once you know what's up, is very fun. RNG upgrades, however, are not. Solution: simply don't enhance gear yourself. Just buy it off the market, and game has many new catch up mechanics now. Not recommended for the average player since the knowledge curve is very steep. still haven't finished the main quests btw. if you do want to play this game, try a normal character first. give up then make a season character and be happy.

[EDIT 2] this game is addicting. its much better than it was, however. there are new guaranteed methods for enhancing your gear, allowing you to hit the meat of the game *eventually*, instead of maybe. Still a lot of grinding, but honestly this is much more respectful of your time. This game is huge, complex, full of live and dead content. There is probably something you like to do in this game, and other people who share your interests. If not, no biggie!

Honestly I love this game. There is just so much to do. Especially after Iceborne, with a bunch of QOL fixes, the game is better than ever. Yeah, there is a bit of a learning curve and YES the grind is REAL, but overall super fun.

The only reason I liked this game was cause the combat reminded me of Dark Souls and the nostalgia somehow carried me through 20 hours of the cathedral. Overall the game is buggy, unfinished, filled with reused assets and is only worth 20 bucks. Not to mention the DLCs are ass. The story is ass, presentation is terrible and forced and annoying. Combat is bland and boring, and overall this game is proof that Bandai can't make a souls-like without Fromsoft.

This game is simply amazing. You need to play it. If you feel off-put by 2B and A2's clothing choice, don't let that distract you from this amazing masterpeice. And trust me, it is all part of the plot.
