I have to recommend this by the single fact that it's still being updated. 👍

Poor Xbox Elite gamepad support which was never fixed.

(Also, very difficult game.)

Crazy jank! Super glitchy movement, invisible walls all over the place (some which you hilariously can climb), not well optimized at all, shadows flicker to the extreme and you can see through terrain depending on camera orientation. Plus the story is outrageously bad! This was not at all what I expected, this feels like a very unfinished early alpha.

PSA: Despite being voxel based, this it NOT Minecraft!

Everything you do outside a small, specific area will be reset every time you quit, only your character and what you build inside will be saved. Every tree you cut down will be back, every hole you dig will be filled in, every enemy you defeated is resurrected in exactly the same place, and heck, even every treasure chest is re-filled. Nothing you do matters in this game.

It's a super weird decision and in the end, I don't think the increased graphical fidelity is worth that sacrifice in gameplay.

The premise of this game is my dream VR experience. Unfortunately, the way the ships move (very jerkily and with zero respect of newtonian physics, or any other physics for that matter) immediately takes me out of the experience. And then the weird way you steer a ship (basically an uncomfortably feeling rudder, but again with immediate response and zero inertia) ruins the rest of the experience. The developers need to nail the feeling of those two basic things before I can start enjoying the rest of the game. Also quite early collided with a ship because there's quite a poor sense of scale (which might be the vergence accomodation conflict, but still).

I'm an industrial designer and this game is a wonderful outlet to experiment with form and function!

The game may look simple at first, but the gameplay is surprisingly impressively balanced, and the wonderful art style and cozy music work well to temper any frustrations in engineering solutions to the tasks at hand which the (quite finely tuned) physics may throw a wrench in the machinery at you (in one mission quite literally that even).

All I ever wanted from VR. 👍

However, this was released in 2017 and I'm running it in 2023 on a top of the line PC and there's still stutter...

The game mechanics and overall feel seems like at least a decade old, very stiff and rigid. UI is extremely under developed. Showstopper bug made me stop playing and after a month, still no major patch. At least the setting is a good depiction of a Corporate/Musk capitalist dystopia, but damn it's not a world I want to be in because it's depressing as hell.

It's interesting to reflect upon how beautiful the landscape is at the beginning of the game, and how comparatively ugly it is at the end when the people have exploited and destroyed the nature...

I hope Terrascape 2 will be a gardening game.

Like many of these very flashy Slay the Spire like games, they have better presentation but the gameplay feels flatter, less interesting and absolutely shorter! Yes, I only did one run (hence "0 hours") but you instantly get the formula and if you've played others like it, you quickly get a feel for what they put in their particular blend.

If they continue expanding it and fleshing it out, I'll switch my recommendation, but for now this genre is getting crowded and there's better playing options out there that I'd rather spend my time on.
