Bioshock games have always had the ability to tell strong stories and create impactful moments, but nothing that the studio has done before has come close to Infinite.

You're thrown into a world where you ponder the sanity of the residents, you question your mission, and you gravitate slowly towards your companion. The long distance visuals are excellent, but the detail is lacking in the textures, making it feel more like a port than a PC game.

You've always had your guns and your abilities in previous games, but never a companion like Elizabeth. She will help you in ways you've never been assisted in before, and you'll start taking her for granted. She's beautifully written and the work and detail put into her character brings her to life like never before seen in a video game.

The biggest disappointment is the environment, almost nothing responds to you. Sure, you can walk by a couple and hear a quip, but try to enter nine out of every ten stores and you'll get a lovely low-res texture and a non-response. The environment feels rich in certain areas, like the opening sequence, and then completely dead in others. The action elements are pretty standard, but the story will leave you with many questions and plenty to ponder long after. It's a great discussion piece, and there are moments that can really stick with you.

Overall, Bioshock is a beautiful game with beautiful moments. The story and characters elevate the weaker gameplay elements, and it's like living in an old movie. It's an unforgettable experience.
