Started playing during free weekend and bought this game on sale. Definitely worth the price at under $10. The default weapon in the game is a single shot bolt-action (one-shot kill) and that has the effect of making cover and squad tactics really important.

Really fun game, like both the attacking and defending dynamics.

Game of the decade

Its a damn shame that the developers failed to learn any of the lessons from Vermintide.

Game is extremely unstable, crashes during multiplayer roughly once every 4 games forcing you to immediately lose rather than try to reconnect. Incredibly tilting. It is not my internet that is the problem, this is the only multiplayer game that I play that breaks with this alarming regularity. Devs please fix.

It's the type of early access game that's very much a work in progress but is showing signs that it might turn out to be fantastic. Some systems and things are beautiful, awesome and polished, like the artistic direction, music, aesthetic, tech tree (add automatic research) and food and water, some are piecemeal and feel unfinished, like the reputation with other factions, colonist pathing and priorities and the specialists/world map, and some are horrifically buggy, like the fact that seemingly random parts of your save get deleted when you reload.

I have high hopes for this project. The dev team is on top of things and seems to be responsive to feedback, plus they made surviving mars, which is one of my all time great games. While I think they're still playing around with systems to see what fits, its already ok and playable, will soon be pretty good, and eventually, hopefully, great.
