It's fun, the characters are all interesting, and it's just a blast to play. My only gripe is the optimization could be better, but that's probably a consequence of them using UE5.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a game I wanted to love. I tried to love it. But the developers (two of them now) and the publisher (Gun Media) have let me down more than I can stand. After nearly 1000 hours spent I can give my full and wholeheartedly honest review on this game. There are things to like, and there are also many many things to dislike. Let me list some things that stand out in the current version of the game (as of 10/4/24).

Pros:
- Interesting and fun concept.
- Cute/likeable Victims and interesting/scary Family members.
- Leatherface is SUPER FUN to play and he is by far the best Family member.
- Dedicated and impressionable artistic vision.
- Music that gets you into the head space of TCM.

(and now;)
Cons:
- Badly designed skill and ability trees (for both sides).
- A combination of frustrating and extremely stale gameplay (for both sides).
- Certain Victim attributes are useless (stealth/toughness).
- Character balance is in shambles.
- Map design is terrible and it leads to extremely rigid and boring strategies to win (on both sides).
- The community is a combination of apathetic (they will never use voice or text chat) and toxic (just use your imagination).

This game was a fun and unforgettable experience a year ago, and I would never want to forget that, but as a GAME I cannot and will not recommend what it has become for someone to pick up. Save your time and money.

It's certainly a different experience from the original but it's not at all bad. The characters are expanded on very well and are super likeable, the music is re-orchestrated perfectly, and the combat system is fun and engaging. My only major cons for the game are that the side quests feel tacked on and getting stunned while casting eats your ATB and your MP and that can be a little frustrating at times.

Overall; pretty great game and a good time! Definitely check it out if you like FF.

The pixel remaster does a good job of bringing this game up a little bit, but let's be honest. It's still FF2. It's the same game with the same bad, annoying, and frustrating systems and encounters as before. Really only play this if you're a masochist, want to beat every FF game, or just want to see how the series evolved. Otherwise, I'd skip this one.

I don't have to say much about the story or gameplay. Most everyone already knows that they're both amazing. The Pixel Remaster does a fantastic job of giving people the DEFINITIVE way to play this game. The re-orchestrated music is VERY good, and the Opera scene is even better than I thought it was in the original.

TLDR; If you like FF6 then this version is the best and most convenient way to play it. Definitely buy.

I was unduly harsh on this game the first time I played it (and reviewed it). Inscryption is a very fun and sometimes brutally hard card game. (I'm still in the First Act, so that might change!) It's very fun and has a lot to discover. Check it out. :)

Played this game back on PS4 around the time it came out and thought it was just alright. I powered through it and didn't give the game the time and attention it really deserved. Now, though, I'm going through and really engaging with the systems the game offers and it's surprisingly deep and really fun! Helping other porters achieve their objectives and in turn being helped is really satisfying. (I spent 10 hours doing nothing but building roads.) Definitely recommend this game if you're a fan of Kojima and can accept it for what it is. Keep on keeping on! 👍
